What You Will Do:

We have an opportunity for a Senior Supervisor, Materials Control Lab - 2nd Shift AWW  to be based in Columbus, GA. The Senior Supervisor, Materials Control Lab - 2nd Shift AWW is responsible for managing the entire quality engineering process of assigned parts and supervises the Material Control Lab (Materials Testing)

  • Supervise hourly non-exempt employees on assigned shift; mentor and develop hourly non-exempt employees

  • Respond to technical and process concerns/issues; review process changes or conformity to requirements

  • Coordinate and perform root cause analysis to solve manufacturing process issues

  • Facilitate and prepare for external audits

  • Work with customers regarding quality concerns

  • Participate in cross functional team projects to improve the overall organization and to develop a career path and leadership

  • Update and track the performance of incoming and outgoing specimens

  • Review of engineering documentation to ensure it contains the necessary quality assurance and customer provisions and criteria

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, quality or closely related industrial environment or an Associate's degree and 7 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, quality or closely related industrial environment

  • In absence of a degree, 9 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, quality or closely related industrial environment

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE); Value Stream Mapping, RCCA, 6S - Workplace Organization, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, Total Productive Maintenance and Mistake Proofing

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering technical data to provide guidance to cross functional teams

  • Experience with SAP and other IT Quality systems

  • Thorough understanding of audits and audit preparation

  • Experience with dimensional inspection, blueprint interpretation and/or GD&T, and Pyrometry

  • Knowledge of Document Control and Calibration systems. Ability to query data from database systems. Able to interpret manufacturing drawings

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment of aerospace products

  • Experience using CORE tools

  • Prior experience in a team lead/supervisory capacity

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
