Role Purpose 

Are you a natural connector, a relationship-builder, and a champion for clear, honest communication? As our Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our mission—building bridges with everyone from regulators to politicians, and making sure TalkTalk’s story is heard, understood, and celebrated. 
 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Engagement with key external stakeholders—regulators, government, industry bodies, and partners—making sure TalkTalk’s voice is front and centre. 

  • Build and nurture relationships that protect and promote our business, always with a smile and a solution. 

  • Advise senior leaders on policy, regulatory, and reputational issues, translating complexity into clear, actionable guidance. 

  • Spot opportunities for collaboration and influence, and lead on campaigns that make a real difference. 

  • Work closely with Communications, Legal, and Commercial colleagues to ensure our messaging is joined up and impactful. 

  • Represent TalkTalk at industry events, forums, and meetings; whilst keeping your finger on the pulse of regulatory and policy developments, sharing insights and recommendations with the business. 

  • Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement plans that support business priorities and transformation projects. 

  • Coordinate responses to regulatory consultations and policy campaigns, ensuring TalkTalk’s perspective is heard. 

  • Track and report on engagement activities, providing regular updates to leadership. 

  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities in the external environment, keeping the business one step ahead. 

  • Mentor and support junior team members, helping them grow their stakeholder engagement skills. 
     

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

Knowledge: 

  • Deep understanding of stakeholder engagement, public affairs, or regulatory communications. 

  • Detailed knowledge of the regulatory framework within which TalkTalk operates is highly desirable. 

 

Skills: 

  • Confident communicator, able to build rapport at all levels. 

  • Skilled at distilling complex issues into clear, compelling messages. 

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to give actionable advice. 

  • Organised, proactive, and always looking for ways to add value. 

 

Experience: 

  • Experience working alongside senior executives is highly desirable. 

  • A communicator with ideally 10+ years’ experience either in-house or as a consultant. 

  • Comfortable juggling different stakeholders at the same time.
