As Senior Staff Electrical Electronic Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide variety of engineering work for development of hospital beds and stretchers medical devices including concept development, prototype design build and test, design changes, DFMEAs and compliance testing to ensure successful product launch. You may support and conduct root cause analysis, verification and validation testing, manufacturing transfer activities, component obsolescence management for existing products.
Core Engineering Responsibilities
Independently design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices.
Develop and apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods, including EMI/EMC, reliability, and safety evaluations.
Design circuits and electromechanical components using Schematic Capture, Layout, and Failure Mode Analysis.
Translate user needs into design inputs and produce advanced component and sub-system level designs.
Conduct advanced problem solving and evaluate solutions against technical requirements.
Lead prototyping and testing activities to validate design performance and feasibility.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Contributions
Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success.
Drive improvements in procedures, processes, and technologies to enhance product development and delivery.
Required:
Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
8+ years of related design experience
Advanced understanding of electrical components like microcontrollers, power supplies, motor control designs and manufacturing methods including common failure modes.
Experience with PCB Schematic & Layout process and tools (e.g. PSpice, LTspice, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, Altium, etc.)
Experience using electronic hardware lab tools for development of design (e.g. Oscilloscope, Electronic Loads, Function Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Environmental Chambers)
Fluent in English; comfortable working in an innovative, international environment
Preferred:
Knowledge of wired interface protocols, including I2C, UART, RS-232, RS-485, CAN, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, and DRAM interfaces
Knowledge of wireless interface protocols, such as Bluetooth, BLE, RFID, and Wi-Fi, including standards, requirements, and testing protocols
Experience working with suppliers on process improvements, test methods development e.g. ICT, FCTs
