Develocity is a first-of-its-kind toolchain observability and acceleration platform that helps software teams adopt and improve DORA capabilities (including continuous delivery) in order to achieve software delivery excellence. It combines build and test acceleration with deep observability for builds and tests with Gradle Build Tool, Apache Maven™, sbt, npm, and Python, and applies to both CI and local builds and tests. Ultimately, Develocity provides an operational layer across an organization’s toolchains to speed up, troubleshoot, and optimize local developer and remote CI feedback loops.

Our software is used by some of the world's leading software organizations, such as Netflix, Airbnb, SAP, several top ten banks, and many other major customers across all verticals. We regularly collaborate with these and other users to make our products continuously better.

Who You Are

We are looking for senior engineers with a strong passion for helping software engineering teams increase their developer productivity with faster, more reliable, and better scalable builds, as part of a collaborative team.

Our ideal candidates are passionate about developer productivity and thrive on the satisfaction of helping many engineering teams around the world improve theirs. They are able to use expertise and interpersonal skills to help customers and prospects get the maximum possible benefit from technology developed by Gradle Inc.

Responsibilities

• Helping prospects and customers optimize their builds with Develocity
• Educating engineering teams on the importance of Developer Productivity Engineering
• Informing engineering teams about modern software development techniques and practices
• Improving open-source third-party components used in Android/Gradle/Maven builds
• Developing auxiliary tooling that supports customers' adoption of Develocity
• Contributing product feedback to the Develocity engineering team
• Managing individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
• Contributing to changes that improve the team’s velocity and efficiency

Minimum qualifications

• 5 years of JVM software development experience
• Experience working with Android, Gradle, Maven, and/or sbt builds
• Working proficiency and communication skills in written and verbal English

Preferred qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers and solving their requirements
• Experience developing large-scale Android and/or web applications
• Experience automating the software build and delivery process
• Experience with Agentic AI
• Ability to develop and maintain scalable builds for Android, Gradle, and/or Maven
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills
• Interest and ability to learn new software development skills and techniques

Compensation

We offer competitive salaries and equity grants to all team members. 

The US salary range for this position is $160,000-$200,000 which reflects the target ranges for all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by geographic location and additional factors including but not limited to experience, relevant skills, qualifications, seniority, performance, and travel requirements.
