The Opportunity
Own Manulife Myanmar IT architecture and guide towards target state.
Making sure architecture decisions are aligned with business strategy and architecture principles.
Part of IT leadership to guide local/regional scrum teams.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for architectural design, issues and solutions considerations; apply industry best practices to create scalable and secure solutions that have superior technical performance.
Responsible for product architectural design, issues and solutions considerations for value streams.
Troubleshoots mis-specified component architectures and rapidly corrects them.
Understands nature of the impact of architecture choices and record the architecture decisions including technical debt or improvement plans if any.
Works with dev team to coach/control outcomes of development initiatives.
Works with regional architects on regional initiatives or guardrails to comply with regional standards.
Works with project/product managers as project/product architect and support them with project/product lifecycles such as product roadmap, deployment, release planning, etc.
Acts as first line of solution provider and be SME for business stakeholders on requirement feasibility.
Create fit for purpose solutions, tailored to business needs while cautious on cost and efficiency.
Be part of dev team and act as tech lead, when necessary, perform code review of the team, coach to produce better quality codes.
Experiments with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next and how they will fit into the overall IT landscape.
Required Qualifications:
University study in computer science or engineering
TOGAF certification is a plus
3 – 5 years of solid solution architect experience (mid – large scale IT landscape)
Prefers experience with insource/outsource and group/regional model
Top-notch competencies in tech/digital
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong coding skills/experience is a plus
Experience with both in-source and outsource projects to architect
Able to achieve tasks using own judgement with limited supervision
Fluency in English and Burmese.
