Senior Solution Architect
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for architectural designs, issues and solutions to support required hardware and software architecture; analyze system requirements, design, and review new systems, drive change and integration projects to incorporate new components
Define desired platform, analyze, design, and implement new technologies as required by evolving user needs
Design and maintain complex component architectures. Assist with design of application architecture
Design templates and complex solution components for software and platform engineers to use
Troubleshoot mis-specified component architectures and rapidly correct them
Has positive impact to specific organizational entities
Work across small to medium sized teams with common purpose setting guidelines and clarifying outcomes
Evaluate and build a network of third-party suppliers
Seek coaching from experts in specific areas of capability building
Introduce new developments and innovation into technical discipline within the segment
Use and combine knowledge of discipline and leading market trends to formulate the right approach
Fit for purpose solutions, tailored to business needs
Link actions to longer-term goals and strategy
Collaborate across multiple domain areas to achieve common technology roadmap
Required Qualifications:
Familiar with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
Familiar with modern software architectures and API-driven development, scripting languages and platform technologies
Deep understanding of business strategy and ability to craft software/platform/infrastructure architecture plans to support business outcomes
Understand the corporate climate & culture
Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods
Strong interpersonal skills to coach others and constantly learns from both success and failure
Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion
Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
Experiments with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next
Able to achieve tasks using own judgement with limited supervision
Knowledge in leading small to medium sized groups and coaching others within discipline to grow skills, talent, and best practices
Strong analytical skills, copes with complex situations through deliberate analysis and planning, strong problem-solving skills
Continuous improvement mindset and certification on multiple domains of expertise is preferable
Knowledge in insurance business is preferable
