As the Senior Solution Architect responsible for the Fund Administration domain, you will develop and maintain our leading investment vehicle management capabilities. You will provide Business context, direction and facilitate the development of technology architecture required to align and meet business needs.

In this role, developing relationships with enterprise leaders both within business and IT groups is very important to facilitate better collaboration, bring clarity to complex problems and improve decision making.

As the role of Artificial Intelligence continues to evolve, you will craft solutions using AI. Additionally, you will use Manulife's internal AI tools to increase your own productivity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Product and Technology teams in Fund Administration to craft architectures which drive the customer experience, optimize costs, creates efficiencies, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

  • Applying in-depth knowledge of architecture, software engineering, cloud technologies and data engineering, to define target architectures, patterns and processes.

  • Designing for both functional and non-functional qualities, including availability, resiliency, security, privacy, etc.

  • Ability to manage pragmatic modernization and lead conceptual, solution, and component-level architectures and associated artifacts.

  • Human Centered Design / UX principles.

  • Developing reference architecture and reference implementation patterns.

  • Mentoring and growing other technologists within the firm.

  • Contributing to or leading definition of standards, guidance, and points-of-view that enable engineers to thrive and cross-enterprise thinking to become the norm.

  • Presenting architecture and innovative ideas to executive leadership for the purposes of alignment and key decision making.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years in a similar role in a Financial Services company.

  • Enterprise-level engineering or architecture experience delivering integrated solutions.

  • Experience with and knowledge of common Architecture patterns and models.

  • Ability to own architecture and influence strategic direction and vision for the future.

  • Desire and ability to understand the Fund Administration and Transfer Agent business domains.

  • Desire to develop architectures that meet the current and anticipated business needs in those domains.

  • Ability to evaluate new technologies and know the latest industry trends.

  • Good judgment and the ability to handle high pressure situations.

  • Experience with data and application integration approaches (passionate about business context, APIs, messaging, streaming, sync/async).  Experience addressing operational and non-functional concerns (e.g. horizontal & vertical scalability, performance, maintainability, load distribution, resilience, recovery, security and privacy).

  • Experience with Cloud Native Architecture and Infrastructure Patterns.

  • Knowledge of the enterprise technology space: languages, frameworks, techniques, and industry trends.

  • Ability to devise, develop and apply innovative technology to solutions that would benefit our clients.

  • Refined presentation and communication skills and expertise interfacing and communicating effectively with both engineers and executives.

  • Experience managing architecture governance boards collaborating with other architects and engineers.

  • A strong software engineering and/or architecture background is required.

Salary range is expected to be between

$124,250.00 USD - $230,750.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
