GEICO Tech is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our Claims- Partnerships Platform team. This team is responsible for designing and building the next generation of infrastructure, tools, and APIs that enable 3rd party partners to integrate seamlessly with GEICO's ecosystem. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Partnerships, and and engineering domain teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable systems that empower external developers and businesses to create impactful integrations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack Platform services, scalable APIs, responsive front-end interfaces, SDKs, and developer tools that enable 3rd party integrations with GEICO platforms.
- Partner with product managers, technical program managers, and cross-functional engineers to define and deliver platform features.
- Ensure the platform meets high standards of security, privacy, and compliance while maintaining excellent developer experience.
- Drive end-to-end solutions, from technical design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance through thoughtful design and rigorous testing.
- Lead design sessions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to maintain high engineering standards.
- Proactively identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve scalability, reliability, and security.
- Mentor engineers and share best practices to improve processes across teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including Java (J2EE, Spring Boot) and front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
- Hands-on experience building full-stack, distributed, and scalable systems with microservices or SOA architecture.
- Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, or gRPC integrations.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, and experience optimizing data access and performance.
- Experience with cloud platforms, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building platforms or tools for external developers or 3rd party integrations.
- Knowledge of API design best practices (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
- Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and identity management (e.g., OAuth, SAML SSO).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure networking, subscription management, and security zoning.
-Track record of working effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Annual Salary
$105,000.00 - $215,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
