JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements security controls to protect the organization.
- Assesses coverage and quality of security controls across infrastructure, identifies gaps in coverage, and recommends enhancements.
- Designs, deploys and maintains robust security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, data loss prevention system and secure configurations to protect the company’s networks, servers and other security-related infrastructure components.
- Designs and builds custom solutions and integrations to meet security requirements for varied operating environments.
- Develops, maintains, and enforces platform/product security policies.
- Provides an enterprise-wide view of prioritized infrastructure vulnerabilities based on threat information, assesses gaps in controls, and recommends high-value remediation activities.
- Creates comprehensive documentation, including security procedures, diagrams, vulnerability knowledge base, detailed remediation steps, and infrastructure configuration guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO) and regulatory requirements related to infrastructure security.
- Provides technical guidance and support to system administrators, developers and other stakeholders on security leading practices, secures coding principles and secures configuration management.
Job Requirements:
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, cybersecurity controls, threat landscape and attack vectors
- Knowledge of risk management principles and security implications of emerging technologies
- Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and CIS Top 20 Controls
- Knowledge of networking protocols, firewall configurations, VPNs, DNS, cloud technologies, and system administration
- Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanning tools
- Understanding IAM principles, including authentication, authorization, and privileged access management
- Awareness of security compliance standards and frameworks relevant to the organization
Decision Authority:
- Provides professional advice – takes a lead role of process or program execution
- Is accountable for own work and contributes to setting standards through expertise in own job discipline that impact others’ deliverables
- Work is guided by cascaded policies or business plans
- May lead medium to large size projects or work streams with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity with multiple teams representing different interests
