What We’re Looking For:

2U is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Salesforce Product Owner to define, lead, and deliver the vision for our enterprise CRM ecosystem that powers student, partner, and institutional engagement across the learner lifecycle.

In this role, you will own the Salesforce product roadmap across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, and AI-driven capabilities such as Agentforce and Einstein GPT. You will partner closely with cross-functional business leaders, CRM Engineering, and Salesforce to translate business strategy into scalable platform capabilities that drive operational efficiency, personalized learner experiences, and measurable business outcomes.

This position will lead product delivery for CRM transformation initiatives, manage a small team of up to two direct reports, and ensure alignment across enterprise systems, data, and AI strategy.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Product Strategy & Roadmap 

  • Deliver with excellence on the global CRM product strategy aligned with 2U’s mission to transform digital education through personalized, scalable engagement.
  • Define and manage the Salesforce roadmap across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, and related AI capabilities (Einstein GPT, Agentforce).
  • Lead discovery and research to uncover user needs, system gaps, and value opportunities across student recruitment, enrollment, and success journeys.
  • Partner with Salesforce and implementation vendors to optimize consumption of platform roadmaps and innovation cycles.

Product Execution & Delivery 

  • Own and prioritize the Salesforce product backlog, translating strategic objectives into detailed epics, user stories, and success criteria.
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and PI (Program Increment) readiness to ensure delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions.
  • Track and report key product success metrics such as user adoption, process automation rate, and time-to-value improvements.
  • Manage proof-of-concept initiatives with engineering and AI partners to accelerate solution design and innovation.

Stakeholder Management & Governance 

  • Build deep relationships with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Enrollment, and Student Success organizations.
  • Govern product councils, user forums, and steering groups to align priorities and identify high-value opportunities.
  • Communicate product strategies, roadmaps, and results with clarity, confidence, and business relevance to senior leadership.
  • Ensure CRM initiatives comply with data privacy, security, and educational regulatory standards.

Team Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to product owners and/or associate product managers.
  • Foster a collaborative culture across CRM engineering, data, AI, and marketing technology teams.
  • Partner with change management and enablement functions to ensure smooth user adoption and training.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 12+ years of experience in product management/related or CRM product ownership, with 8+ years of direct responsibility for Salesforce platform strategy and delivery. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce ecosystem: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, and Experience Cloud (Marketing Cloud a plus).
  • Proven experience operating within Scaled Agile (SAFe) or enterprise Agile delivery frameworks, including backlog grooming, PI planning, sprint prioritization, and feature-level roadmap ownership.
  • Strong understanding of sales, service, and marketing processes, data models, and automation using Salesforce Flows.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to articulate platform strategy and technical concepts in business terms.
  • Experience driving global enterprise CRM change and managing stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Strong data-driven mindset, with ability to define and measure success metrics.

Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:

  • Experience in higher education, EdTech, or subscription-based SaaS environments.
  • Familiarity with Agentforce, Einstein GPT, or AI-enabled CRM capabilities.
  • Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales/Service Cloud Consultant).
  • Experience managing vendor and SI partner relationships and co-development engagements.
  • Knowledge of integration patterns, data flows, and privacy frameworks across enterprise systems (LMS, CDP, ERP).
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MIS, or related field) preferred.

Management Responsibilities

  • Directly manages up to two product analysts or associate product owners.
  • Provides indirect leadership across cross-functional CRM, Data, and Engineering teams.

While this position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., we will prioritize those who live in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and who are available to come into our Headquarters in Arlington, VA two days a week.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($140,000 -$194,000), with potential bonus eligibility.  Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
