Wood Mackenzie is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Research Analyst to join our Upstream team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our industry-leading research and insights into the global upstream oil and gas sector, helping clients navigate the evolving energy landscape.
· Deliver high-quality research and analysis on upstream assets, companies, and market trends.
· Maintain and enhance asset-level valuations and emissions profiles using proprietary models.
· Interpret complex datasets to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
· Engage with industry stakeholders to validate assumptions and gather market intelligence.
· Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in research outputs.
· Produce thought leadership content including reports, presentations, and client briefings.
· Support clients in strategic decision-making, portfolio benchmarking, and investment analysis.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Geoscience or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas research, consulting, or industry roles.
· Strong understanding of upstream operations, asset economics, and fiscal regimes.
· Experience with valuation models and emissions analysis is highly desirable.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
· Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Python).
