General Description:

The Senior Regional Director (SRD) (West)– Field Medical Directors (FMD) – Medical Affairs will support the National Director of the Field Medical Team, by overseeing the day-to-day duties of the western regional field medical team, and supporting national efforts as directed by the National Director.   The Senior Regional Director will help oversee the field medical team’s support of BeiGene marketed compounds as well as Pre-Clinical and Clinical pipeline development by coordinating external collaborations, research endeavors with heath care providers and external academicians while ensuring internal partnership across the organization.  The Senior Regional Director will be expected to partner with, communicate with, and & co-direct with other SRD(s) in the Hematology FMD team, as well as other FMD / MSL teams, to coordinate uniform efforts and maintain consistency throughout the national team.    The SRD will also be expected to lead special projects, which may involve all or several members of the national FMD team, including those who may not be direct reports.

As a leader in the organization, the incumbent will be accountable to develop regional and national strategies to support enduring and compliant relationships with Opinion Leaders, Research Collaborators & Key Organizations in support of BeiGene development pipeline across all therapeutic areas. This position will require pre-launch and post-launch Medical Affairs support primarily for the hematology pipeline development, focusing on malignant hematology, but may also require coordination with the solid tumor team &/or HEOR team in special joint efforts. Specifically, the incumbent will work closely with internal colleagues, including, but not limited to, medical affairs, clinical development, program leadership, clinical operations, legal, compliance, new product planning, clinical business development intelligence, safety/pharmacovigilance, molecular diagnostics, new markets, and translational research. The incumbent will play a key role in the establishment of BeiGene as a valued collaborator and best-in-class biopharmaceutical company while exemplifying BeiGene Core Values. 

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the daily clinical and administrative activities of the Field Medical Team while providing executive-level support for MA leadership
  • Ensure the Field Medical Team establishes and maintains scientifically credible and compliant peer-to-peer scientific relationships with national & regional opinion leaders in addition to other healthcare providers
  • Oversees FMD’s facilitation of & monitors strategic partnerships with scientific/clinical experts and serve as an enterprise-level point of contact with organizations including but not limited to -
    • Guideline development
    • Cooperative groups
    • Other (National Cancer institutions)

  • Provides impactful feedback/information to internal stakeholders on emerging clinical and scientific trends
  • Assists or oversees in the development and execution of clinically relevant regional medical meetings (e.g., advisory boards, consultant, and investigator meetings), as requested
  • Build strong relationships with internal experts and works cross functionally to achieve overall company goals.
  • Identify continuous process improvement opportunities. 
  • Develop, track, execute and report on FMD goals and objectives.
  • Support Medical Affairs budget planning and management.
  • Be accountable for compliant business practices.

As a leader in the organization, the incumbent will be accountable to help assure that activities are executed within expected scope, budget and timelines per region; will assure best-in-class global capabilities and service; and will play a key role in the establishment, leadership and growth of the following areas:

  • Investigator Initiated & Collaborator Research Program.
  • Strategic Support for Clinical Development Trials, upon request
  • Medical Affairs Advisory Boards & Symposia.
  • Medical Conference / Congress Support
  • Training Support for MA staff & Support for Training of Commercial Colleagues
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders including Clinical, Marketing and Sales

Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:

  • PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred. Advanced degree Nurses, NPs, PAs, or those with a Master’s degree in life sciences with commensurate pharmaceutical industry and clinical research experience are also welcome to apply.

Travel:  Willingness to Travel 50-60% of time

Computer Skills:

  • Skilled in multiple computer-based tools, in addition to software programs such as Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • PC & iPad literacy required, MSOffice skills

Salary Range: $254,600.00 - $324,600.00 annually

BeOne is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
