Salary Range: Annualized target of $125,000–$135,000

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid preferred)

Type: Full Time, Temporary (estimated 6 month term)

This is a temporary assignment with an expected six-month term and the potential to extend or convert to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. The Senior Recruiter (Retail Focus) will own full-cycle recruiting for Studs’ core retail roles—driving consistent, high-quality hiring across Piercers, Apprentices, and Studio Managers nationwide. This is a true recruiting role, focused on sourcing, screening, and closing exceptional talent at scale.

The six-month assignment is designed to strengthen and stabilize Studs’ retail recruiting engine, with an annualized hiring demand of ~100–125 roles across Piercers, Apprentices, and Studio Managers. During this period, success will be measured by improved candidate quality, faster time-to-fill, and reduced burden on internal teams (Piercing Educators, Senior Piercing Educators, and Retail leadership). The recruiter is expected to deliver roughly 40–50 hires during this initial phase while establishing the systems, pipelines, and standards to sustain long-term hiring performance.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, high-volume recruiter who thrives on pace, autonomy, and relationships—someone who actively hunts for great talent, builds deep pipelines, and takes ownership of outcomes from first outreach through offer close.

Key Responsibilities:

Piercing & Studio Leadership Recruiting (Core Focus)

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for Studs’s Training Academy program for piercers across existing and new markets.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for studio leadership roles across existing and new markets.
  • Build and sustain high-quality, evergreen pipelines to support national hiring.
  • Actively source, engage, and close top talent using creative search strategies, referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Partner closely with the Piercing Education team and Regional Managers to calibrate candidate quality and streamline evaluation - ensuring their time is focused on final-stage assessment and development.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for difficult markets and maintain a strong candidate bench ahead of turnover or expansion.
  • Support consistent staffing and quality standards across all studios by improving candidate fit and retention outcomes.

Recruiting Excellence & Enablement

  • Drive discipline and consistency in postings, interview flow, candidate communications, and evaluation standards.
  • Maintain data accuracy and pipeline hygiene in Greenhouse in partnership with People Ops.
  • Coach hiring managers on interview structure and selection discipline to strengthen decision quality and reinforce brand standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase hiring velocity and elevate the candidate experience.
  • Provide light support for HQ searches (fewer than 10 roles annually) as bandwidth allows, ensuring candidate quality, brand alignment, and a consistent experience across all hiring tiers.

Reporting & Communication

  • Deliver weekly updates to the VP of People on open roles, hires, and pipeline health.
  • Flag risk areas early (e.g. regional gaps, market challenges, or delays tied to NSO timelines).
  • Partner with Finance and Retail leadership to ensure hiring cadence aligns with training cycles and studio launch plans.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a strong track record in high-volume or retail environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage 25–30 active requisitions concurrently and deliver 40–50 hires over a six-month horizon.
  • Expert sourcing skills with demonstrated success finding and engaging passive candidates.
  • High judgment and discernment in assessing capability, culture fit, and readiness.
  • Clear, persuasive communicator who builds trust quickly with both candidates and internal partners.
  • Organized, data-literate, and comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
  • Experience with Greenhouse or similar ATS required; proficiency with Google Workspace preferred.
  • Available to work a full-time schedule (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday) for a minimum of 6 months.

Benefits & Perks

  • Flexible Work Environment (3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
  • Paid Safe & Sick Leave
  • Exclusive Employee Discounts on Piercings and Jewelry (we’ve got your friends and family covered too!)
