Position Overview:

As a Senior Program Manager focused on the Operational Workforce Planning Capability, you will play a critical role in enabling Autodesk to effectively operationalize its workforce plans and ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time. You will be responsible for driving process excellence, coordinating cross-functional execution, and ensuring consistent, data-driven workforce planning practices across the organization. This role emphasizes translating strategy into action, optimizing mid-term workforce capacity, managing headcount planning cycles, and ensuring alignment between business demand and talent supply.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Workday Adaptive Planning Product Management, Finance, People Insights & Solution Design (PISD), Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and People Business Partners to deliver scalable operational planning solutions.

This position will report to our Director, Workforce Planning, and it can be 100% remote in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage operational Workforce Planning frameworks, guidelines, and playbooks to enable efficient workforce execution aligned with Autodesk’s business objectives.
  • Lead the annual planning cycles, ensuring coordination across business units, Finance, and HR teams.
  • Own program governance for operational workforce planning processes, ensuring consistency, transparency, and accountability across the organization.
  • Design and optimize workflows for headcount planning and reporting in partnership with IT, Finance, and PISD.
  • Manage Roadmap to enhance the Workday Adaptive Planning model and related tools to support accurate, timely workforce and headcount planning.
  • Develop and track metrics to measure planning accuracy, plan-to-actual variance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Partner with Finance and Talent Acquisition to ensure alignment between workforce demand, hiring plans, and financial constraints.
  • Facilitate regular cross-functional meetings to align on priorities, identify bottlenecks, and drive execution improvements.
  • Benchmark and analyze operational workforce planning practices to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Enable capability-building across People Business Partners and other PPL Centers of Excellence to strengthen workforce planning maturity.
  • Manage relationships with external partners or consultants supporting workforce planning operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior experience managing operational or headcount planning programs at scale.
  • 5+ years in operations, planning, and programs, or combination of these skills
  • Deep expertise in program management, governance, and process optimization.
  • Strong ability to translate strategic plans into executable operational processes and actionable insights.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Skilled in data-driven decision-making and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Workday Adaptive Planning and/or other workforce planning tools.
  • Experience using program and project management tools (e.g., Airtable, Miro, Smartsheet).
  • BA/BS in Business, Operations, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Professional Services or Consulting.
  • Prior experience in a global organization managing multi-region workforce planning.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred but not required.
