About the Role
As Senior Product Manager in Energy Products, you will collaborate with our Technology, Business Development, and Editorial teams to define and execute long-term product strategies for enhancing existing products and launching new product offerings across Dow Jones Energy with an initial focus in our Chemicals Market Analytics (CMA) vertical.
This is an individual contributor role where you will lead significant product areas, tackle complexity, and contribute to strategy with strong judgment and analytical rigor. Reporting to a Senior Product Director within Energy Products, you will be responsible for identifying future trends and opportunities, and driving product initiatives from conception to launch. You will manage prioritization and trade-offs for complex product initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic company goals.
You Will
- Lead the definition of product requirements and help prioritize the roadmap for assigned product areas within our CMA vertical, influencing across multiple teams without direct authority and effectively collaborating with stakeholders including executives, business stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Shape and communicate clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned product areas that are aligned with deep understanding of business goals, market trends, customer needs, and organizational strategic objectives, including enhancements and optimizations, that drive revenue growth, maintain high renewal rates, and increase customer and user engagement.
- Work with business stakeholders, Energy Products leaders, and research teams to gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative insights—including user feedback, customer behavior, product performance, and competitor trends—across assigned product areas.
- Perform in-depth analysis to demonstrate ROI and impact of new assigned product area launches, measuring against Energy Products goals.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and operations team members throughout the product life cycle, exhibiting strong technical acumen and understanding feasibility to make smart product choices aligned with technology impact.
- Define and measure KPIs for success of assigned products, ensuring accountability and aligning with business objectives.
- Establish and Monitor product telemetry data including performance and health, gather business feedback, and iterate on product improvements to enhance user experience and drive adoption.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within Energy Products team and across the organization.
- Champion adaptability within the Energy Products team, leading by example in embracing changes in the organization, energy landscape, customer needs, and market trends.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and guide strategy, vision, and planning activities.
You Have
- 7+ years of product management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex product initiatives with substantial impact, influencing across the organization without direct authority.
- Proven ability to independently define long-term product strategies aligned with business objectives, anticipating future trends and opportunities.
- Passion and knowledge about providing solutions that deliver critical market pricing, insights, and news with deep subject matter expertise in the energy, energy transition and/or chemicals marketspace.
- Expertise in data analysis to inform product strategy and decisions, defining and tracking key performance indicators for new product launches.
- Fluency in digital B2B product metrics, especially as they pertain to customer/product/feature performance.
- Experience defining and implementing product requirements for new features on websites and/or mobile apps.
- Ability to partner with a technology organization, contributing to technical discussions and understanding the impact of technology choices.
- Experience conducting experimentation for new product features and launches.
