As AI agents become more capable and autonomous, they introduce an entirely new frontier of security challenges. This role is about setting the multi-year vision for the fundamental security paradigms required to ensure agents remain safe, aligned, and resilient against attack as they advance toward AGI.

You will be the single-threaded product owner responsible for the strategy that addresses the full spectrum of agent-related threats, including Prompt Injection, Anti-Distillation, and other novel Threats against AI. Your scope will also include defining the product roadmap for ensuring System Integrity and developing the foundations for long-term AGI Control.

You will own and navigate the complex trade-offs between agent capability, research velocity, and security, influencing and aligning senior leadership across Google to chart our path for deploying trustworthy agents.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and own the multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for a portfolio of Agent Security initiatives.
  • Lead the product definition and strategy to defend against a wide range of threats, including prompt injection, anti-distillation, and adversarial misuse.
  • Define the product roadmap for long-term, scalable AGI Control, in partnership with Google’s foremost research and safety teams.
  • Own the entire product lifecycle for Agent Security initiatives, from navigating ambiguous early-stage research to driving execution on large-scale strategic bets.
  • Drive strategic alignment and secure buy-in from senior leadership across DeepMind and Google.
  • Serve as a leading subject matter expert and thought leader on Agent Security within Google.
  • Lead and influence complex, cross-functional initiatives, bridging the gap between novel research, applied engineering, and scaled product deployment.

  • Experience defining novel metrics and quantitative goals for large-scale, technically complex problems.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills; ability to simplify complex technical and security concepts for senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, cross-functional initiatives in highly ambiguous, zero-to-one domains.

In addition, the following would be an advantage:

  • Hands-on experience in AI Security (e.g., adversarial ML, red teaming, jailbreaking), foundational AI research, or deep systems-level security (e.g., building secure infrastructure, automated defenses).
  • Hands-on experience in software development or engineering.
