WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Sport Marketplace Director (SMD)- Nike Sportswear (NSW) & Energy will lead a squad across Merchandising and Marketing to deliver commercial results and shape the Nike Aus/NZ business in service of Consumers and our Customers. Based in Australia, the NSW & Energy SMD sits on the Asia Pacific and Latin America (APLA) NSW & Energy Leadership teams and will work closely with teams both locally and at the APLA HQ. The Sport Marketplace Director- NSW & Energy will report into the VP/GM of APLA Nike Sportswear with a dotted line to the VP/GM of Nike Pacific.

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in sales / marketing / merchandising or related field.
  • A strong commercial background with a proven history of driving results across Retail, Sales, Merchandising and/or Marketing.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to analyse and synthesize consumer and marketplace data to drive action across teams.  
  • An adaptable leader, who is both a strategic thinker and a doer: someone who can zoom out and connect dots across teams, while rolling up their sleeves to bring ideas to life in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As the Sport Marketplace Director- NSW & Energy your primary focus will be leading the Pacific (Aus/NZ) NSW & Energy Offense, drive commercial results and shape the future marketplace.

  • Develop and drive the NSW & Energy strategy and future vision.
  • Lead the local NSW & Energy teams through the seasonal Go-To-Market process.
  • Conduct territory specific analysis and make recommendations to inform and influence strategy and seasonal priorities.
  • Inform and influence seasonal and annual targets, in partnership with your cross functional team (e.g. Local GM, Finance, Planning and Sales).
  • Interface with key retail accounts in partnership with teammates in Sales.
  • Drive commercial alignment and execution to deliver seasonal targets and a profitable pull market.
  • Influence ongoing marketplace elevation.
