Summary:

Enables self-service of BT product teams through the planning, execution, and delivery of one or more platforms per the articulated needs of products it supports. Takes ownership of and is accountable for a portfolio of products, features, components, or solutions in a team leadership role and associated performance metrics.  Engage directly with customers to ensure delivery of a high-quality, robust, and scalable product on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • As Senior Platform Owner, you will lead the platform engineering "product," directly influencing thousands of developers and services:

    Product Vision & Strategy: Collaborate with engineering leaders to establish, promote, and refine the long-term vision for the PaaStry+ ecosystem. Develop the "paved road" for 500+ microservices and beyond across AWS and GCP.

    Own the Gateway Products: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle for mission-critical gateways. Set the strategy, roadmap, and self-service features for our API Gateway, which controls production APIs, and our new LLM Gateway, which provides secure access to large language models.

    Pioneer Agentic AI in Platform Engineering: Drive our AI-powered platform initiative. Actively investigate and embed advanced, agentic AI capabilities (such as AI-driven troubleshooting, pipeline optimization, and proactive developer agents) to deliver a next-generation, assistive platform.

    Define the Platform Ecosystem Roadmap: Maintain a unified, prioritized, and actionable backlog for the entire platform, including the core Internal Developer Platform (IDP), network gateways, processes for initializing services (service bootstrapping), and frameworks for automating software testing (test automation frameworks).

    Go-to-Market & Adoption: Design and deliver a robust developer adoption strategy for the platform.

    Customer Success & Feedback: Establish ongoing feedback mechanisms (surveys, interviews) to track satisfaction (NPS) and ensure your roadmap addresses key developer pain points.

    Value Metrics & KPIs: Define and focus on the metrics that matter. You will own the platform's value stream, tracking DORA metrics (Lead Time, Deployment Frequency, etc.) across thousands of monthly deployments to demonstrate the platform's ROI.

    Evangelism & Communication: Be the public representative and principal evangelist for PaaStry+. Present at internal tech talks, craft persuasive updates for stakeholders, and foster a dynamic internal community.

Mandatory Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS or equivalent degree or 5 years related work experience in a technical field

  • 8+ years experience as a Platform Owner , Developer or similar technical roles with 5+ years of experience in an agile environment Strong understanding of Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban and other agile development frameworks

  • Proven experience managing design and delivery of highly technical and complex large-scale platforms

  • Sound knowledge of emerging technologies focusing on cloud products, SaaS platforms, or Enterprise Applications

  • Strong platform engineering skills with deep understanding of platform vision and priorities

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills and ability to make decisions and set clear priorities

  • Proven ability to recognize value and manage investments to maximize value delivered

  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
