Location: Newark, NJ hybrid (minimum 3 days/week in office)

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals to improve the Salesforce platform.  You will code, test and debug new and existing applications as you implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services, and experiences. In addition to applied experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.  

Location: Newark, NJ hybrid - minimum 3 days/week in office.

Requirements:

  • Liaise between the business analysts, internal systems team and external vendors, developing solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Conduct a full range of programming tasks including design, development, testing and documentation for complex projects leveraging the Salesforce platform.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to solutions developed.
  • Keep abreast of Salesforce initiatives and technological trends that impact the business to continue to improve efficiencies on the Salesforce platform. 
  • Provide daily support to end users including managing issue resolution and performing root cause analysis.
  • Manages system issues appropriately and escalates to senior management where needed.
  • Facilitates system testing, working with business analysts to identify test cases, developing test scripts and conduct test execution. 
  • Will act as subject matter expert in Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and related applications.
  • Assist in coordination of production releases, working towards an Agile delivery methodology.
  • Write unit, integration tests and functional automation, researching problems discovered by quality assurance or product support, developing solutions to address the problems.   
  • Bring an applied understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, begin to identify opportunities to provide input to the team and coach others, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day   
  • Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. 

The Skills & Expertise You Bring:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields 
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • 5-7+ years of proven experience with design and development of custom solutions using Apex, Lightning, batch apex, Lightning Component frameworks and Salesforce API.
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce CRM platforms.
  • Financial Services Cloud/Service Cloud or Sales Cloud functional knowledge. Advanced flows, Platform Events, Large Data Volumes and performance optimization. Familiarity with security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, digital signature), SSL, web service proxies, firewall, SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0
  • Experience with leveraging services to integrate Salesforce with AWS and other external apps (REST, JSON, Event Streaming, Core Java, Spring Boot etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of collaborative team.
  • Ability to solve problems with high-level software and application issues.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce development best practices.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD) 
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Preferred qualifications: 
    • Knowledge of Vlocity/Omnistudio is huge plus
    • Collaboration skills to work with business partners and agile teams
    • Knowledge of Bitbucket, DevOps automation tools & practices
    • Experience with Test-driven Development (TDD)
    • Testing tools such as SOAPUI, Postman, Selenium
    • Financial/Insurance industry experience is a plus

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $107,700.00 to $160,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
