This role is requested to have an in-depth understanding of electrical and mechanical constraints, manufacturing feasibility, and safety standards.

This position reports to the Shanghai R&D Department Lead and will be located in Shanghai.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic PWB Design with Diverse Product Lines: Develop PWB designs across multiple product lines, including high - speed/frequency controller boards, high - current backplanes, interface boards in the system category; high - power, high - density mainboards and control boards for front - end power; and high - power, high - density, multi - layer, heavy copper boards for board - mounted power. Meticulously adhere to the company's established design processes, ensuring strict compliance with the project schedule and quality requirements. This encompasses comprehensive planning from the initial concept to the final implementation, aiming to deliver high - performance PCB solutions.
  • Guideline Adherence, Innovation, and Technical Depth: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all PWB design guidelines specific to the company's power supply products and implement them effectively. Continuously seek opportunities to optimize designs, balancing functionality, manufacturability, and cost - effectiveness. Leverage extensive knowledge of power electronics topology, schematics, and design principles to drive innovation in the design process.
  • Knowledge Dissemination and Team Empowerment: Take the lead in explaining and conducting training sessions on the Cadence tool, PWB design guidelines, and DFM checklists for colleagues. Share best practices and industry - leading techniques, including insights on PWB materials, manufacturing processes, and EQ, to enhance the overall design capabilities of the team.
  • Design Software Mastery and Training: Exhibit expert - level proficiency in design software, such as Cadence tools (Allegro for PCB layout and Allegro System Capture for schematic). Assume the responsibility of training electrical engineers, providing in - depth guidance on advanced design features. Assist colleagues in leveraging the full potential of the software for complex PCB designs, with a focus on aspects like system capture, library tools, net classes, high - voltage safety rules, stackup design, and advanced layout skills.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with both global and local teams, leveraging strong communication skills to ensure seamless information flow and alignment of design goals. Participate actively in cross - functional discussions, contributing valuable insights from a PCB design perspective.
  • Cross - Functional Problem - Solving: Work closely with cross - functional teams to address various issues throughout the product lifecycle. This includes challenges related to new product research (specifically the layout aspect), design, manufacturing during prototype building, and testing and qualification processes. Provide innovative solutions to complex problems, taking into account PCBA DFM, safety requirements, and conducting qual and environment stress test failure analysis to ensure the successful development and launch of products.

Basic Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A degree in Electrical Engineering Technology is required. A background in power supply PCB design is highly preferred, indicating a deeper understanding of the unique requirements and challenges in this specialized field.
  • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years of hands - on experience in PCB design, covering all aspects from component placement, routing, to post - process activities such as DFM. This experience should demonstrate a track record of delivering high - quality PCB designs across diverse projects, including those related to the product lines mentioned above.
  • Technical Knowledge: In - depth knowledge of PCB construction, materials, and the corresponding IPC standards. A comprehensive understanding of PWB material and manufacturing process, EQ is also essential for ensuring the reliability, performance, and manufacturability of PCB designs.
  • Specialized Expertise: Proficiency in EMI compliance and safety rules related to power systems. The ability to design PCBs that meet strict electromagnetic compatibility and safety requirements is crucial for power - related products. Knowledge of PCBA DFM and the capacity to conduct qual and environment stress test failure analysis are also highly desirable.
  • Performance Under Pressure: Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, meeting project schedules, target costs, and product performance requirements. Strong project management and time - management skills are required to ensure the successful delivery of projects in a fast - paced environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Cadence tools, including Allegro for PCB layout and Concept for schematic capture. Over 10 years of experience with these tools is a significant advantage. Additionally, knowledge of system capture and library tools, as well as extensive experience with net classes, high - voltage safety rules, stackup design, and advanced layout skills, is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese, enabling effective communication with global and local teams, as well as cross - functional stakeholders.
