About you and the role
The Dow Chemical company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Specialist based in Mumbai within HR Operations team, which is dedicated to designing and delivering innovative HR solutions for employees and leaders. Your role requires deep subject-matter expertise to consult on various HR programs, processes, and people-related matters, with a primary focus on providing exceptional employee experience. Key Responsibilities
- The Senior Payroll Specialist delivers exceptional employee experience through expert service and consultation for Payroll RTB.
- The role supports payroll processing for one or more countries, ensuring timely and accurate pay aligned with tax laws, labor conditions, and company policies
- Coordination with various internal and external stakeholders is essential, emphasizing accountability and ownership of data and processes.
- The specialist drives innovation, executes agreed service levels, and pursues operational excellence in pay processing with a structured, detail-oriented approach.
- Responsibilities include managing local and expat payroll, defining and documenting best practices, ensuring compliance, and acting as the first escalation point for Pay Coordinators and payroll vendors.
- The role involves partnering with other disciplines, Government authorities, backing up pay runs, and participating in projects impacting expat and UK payroll, ensuring effective communication of outcomes.
Qualifications
- You have a bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance or related area.
- You bring a minimum of 3 - 5 years’ Time and Absence and payroll experience, both at a technical and practical level in diverse business and work processes or other relevant job experience.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of UK payroll experience is must.
Your Skills
- Fluency in English
- Understand organizational interdependencies and possess experience in cross-functional and cross-cultural change management.
- Demonstrate a strategic and analytical mindset, along with strong communication and persuasion skills.
- Have experience working in high-volume operational environments.
- Familiarity with Workday and ADP streamline is considered an advantage.
- Experience with ADP eTime or ADP WFM is a plus.
- Exhibit strong consulting and change management skills, excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, the capacity to multi-task and manage competing priorities, work independently with accountability, and maintain a customer service mindset.
