Job Description Summary:

The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for supporting our global payroll process.

The ideal candidate will:
• Independently manage several EMEA region payroll processing in line with local statutory rules and compliance and internal policies.
• Have EMEA region payroll management and processing experience.
• Ability to backup and support payroll in the APAC region.
• Work very closely with our internal payroll partners to deliver 100% accurate payroll.
• Establish an excellent working relationship with our payroll partners to develop, adjust, and enhance payroll systems and procedures resulting from changes in tax laws, regulations, and our internal pay policies/compensation initiatives.
• Foster relationships with internal stakeholders including People Operations, Benefits, Treasury, Tax and Finance.
• Work a delayed shift to support the EMEA region from Pune, India to respond to employee queries and ensure local Rocket teams are supported to successfully complete all payroll delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage several EMEA region payrolls, covering processing, compliance and working closely with our payroll partners and internal stakeholders.

    • Backup APAC region payroll during team member absence and leave.

    • Ensure proper reviews are in place for payroll output from payroll partner. This includes ensuring all payroll inputs are accurately captured and includes but not limited to performing payroll analysis such as total gross payroll to net payment, the average paid per headcount by country, and comparison of analysis to the prior period, etc.

    • Respond to employee inquiries and serve as a liaison between employee and third-party providers; educate and counsel employees on how to use self-service tools and address issues that fall outside the scope of self-service.

    • Being diligent and compliant with the documented payroll processes.

    • Updating and maintaining the documented payroll processes.

    • Support internal and external audits.

    • Build strong partnership with third-party partners.

    • Review and analysis of payroll related reports, including governmental and regulatory filings.

    • Ensure accurate and timely filing with appropriate government authorities.

    • Ensure proper support files are saved in shared drive each pay period.

    • Ensure payroll reports are provided to finance partners for general ledger activity in a timely manner.

    • Work with internal partners in People Operations, Benefits, Treasury, Tax and Finance to facilitate and improve the payroll processes, including benefits and withholdings (e.g., leave of absence, employee benefits, retirement and leave balances, flexible spending accounts, etc.).

    • Manage the annual preparation and delivery of yearly forms as required within the jurisdictions.

    • Leverage Workday and contribute to designing an efficient and seamless payroll process.

    • Ad hoc Payroll support as and when needed.

 

Required skills and experience:

    • Payroll processing experience in EMEA region.

    • Candidate willing to work a delayed shift to compliment EMEA region.

    • Excel experience (pivot tables and lookups).

    • Strong understanding of payroll processes and best practices.

    • Excellent management and organizational skills.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to interface and establish rapport with all levels of the organization including executive team members.

    • A proactive, high-energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement.

    • Responsible, deadline driven approach.

    • Entrepreneurial; someone who wants to support building out the global payroll process

 

Preferred/Ideal Qualifications:

    • Chartered Accountant or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.

    • 3-5 years EMEA payroll processing experience.

    • Spain, Italy, France or Germany payroll processing experience.

    • Experience with payroll system implementation.

    • Experience with Workday (or equivalent HR System), ADP, or UKG payroll vendors.
