Senior Observability Engineer

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team distributed across Copenhagen, Gurugram, and Amsterdam. You will play a key role in modernizing and automating our operations of Elastic as we migrate our hosting platform from Windows servers to Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Elasticsearch as a service to the bank, ensuring high levels of self-service and automation for Observability and Search.

  • Ensure stability in data collection pipelines from end to end.

  • Maintain and enhance our new Kubernetes-based Elastic platform utilizing Elastic ECK, Helm, and custom Kubernetes CRDs and operators.

  • Continuously improve the performance, stability, and availability of the platform.

  • Develop an excellent user experience for developers and operators.

  • Assist users in solving their data and monitoring challenges with your expertise.

Your Profile

You are a proactive team player passionate about software engineering with an open mind for learning and growth. You have a strong technical background and are ready to take a leading role, setting high-quality standards and mentoring your team members.

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in development roles.

  • Experience in operating, performance-tuning, scaling, and managing Elasticsearch clusters and data.

  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts, applications deployment and operation, and Helm chart templating.

  • Experience in developing applications, APIs, or system integrations in languages like C#, Python, or Go. Familiarity with automation using scripting languages such as PowerShell.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with major cloud providers, especially Azure.

  • Experience with GitOps using Flux or ArgoCD.

  • Familiarity with Windows-based environments.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as DNS, PKI, certificates, OAuth, and OIDC authentication.
