Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Wireless Analyst will be supporting the implementation of Cisco and Meraki Wireless based with ClearPass and Cisco Switches in highly available production networking environment. Designing RF coverage using Ekahau to model floors and using Airwave and DNAC for monitoring and reporting. Also, very good understanding of TCP/IP and DHCP/DNS are a big plus.

This position would also provide an escalated point of contact for technical networking support, primarily for the NOC/L1 network operations staff. 

What will do you do?

  • Provide support to Network Operation team in resolving various Wireless related issues.
  • Utilizes all available resources to perform troubleshooting e.g. documentation, contacts, etc.
  • Manage problems according to ITIL Problem Management Process.
  • Participate in audit and provide evidence for audit closures.
  • Identify any major operational/networking problems to the Telecom Development team with possible recommendations for solution.
  • Report issues to Telecom management and representatives of affected businesses.
  • Set follow up times for all Incidents, so that recovery can be achieved within severity guidelines
  • Follow up with service partners when status not provided within guidelines and escalate when necessary
  • Interface with business and service partners to coordinate change activities.
  • Initiate change control tickets and produce detailed execution documents.
  • Follow-up on success of change activities.
  • Work to 100% change success with 0 unplanned downtime resulting from planned changes.
  • Ensure documentation is current as it relates to changes made, ie. PRP docs, diagrams etc…

What do you need to succeed?

  • Ensure that all change activities are reviewed, and assigned with change implementers.
  • Follow-up on success of change activities.
  • Work to 100% change success with 0 unplanned downtime resulting from planned changes.
  • Ensure documentation is current as it relates to changes made, ie. PRP docs, diagrams etc…

Must haves:

  • 4 year degree in engineering, computer science  or any relevant subject
  • Deep knowledge about Cisco wireless integration with DNAC (catalyst Center)
  • Experience migrating from other wireless platform (Meraki) to Cisco based controllers.
  • Cisco switching and VLANs
  • Deep understanding of the RF design and management

 Nice to haves:

  • Cisco certification in wireless
  • Silverpeak experience
  • Ekahau wireless design and site survey
