MuleSoft’s Professional Services team works across every technology and system to deliver solutions to customers in every industry. As a Senior Infrastructure Architect on our Services team, you will have the opportunity to enable our customers to understand and employ MuleSoft technology hands-on while coaching and mentoring elite members of a fast-paced, growing organization.

You will be an influencer and thought leader with in-depth technical expertise, credibility, and field experience to establish yourself as a subject-matter expert in a company leading innovation within the integration services industry.

Position Deliverables:

  • Provide expertise and leadership in solutions architecture in the infrastructure domain

  • Demonstrate thought leadership in Cloud Computing / Container Orchestration / Service Mesh across multiple channels and become a trusted advisor to IT decision makers

  • Evangelise reusable assets, write and publish reference architectures, technical articles and create reference implementations to scale the technical best practices globally

  • Enable the field team and the partner ecosystem to increase delivery capacity and drive customer success

  • Conduct requirements gathering workshops and lead the solution design process with customers, partners and product team

  • Deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, articles and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders

  • Package best practices and lessons learned into thought leadership, methodologies and published assets

  • Work with the product team to identify feature gaps, provide valuable product insight, guiding product direction and drive delivery of features

  • Identify ongoing risks and pain points throughout the project, develop and implement mitigation measures

  • Improve internal processes, promote knowledge sharing within the team and cross-function, by contributing to the internal knowledge hub and lead lunch & learn sessions

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of MuleSoft products by leading internal workgroups and design sessions within the Services team and across teams

What you'll need to be successful

  • Active Secret level security clearance

    • Qualification for this job is contingent upon acceptable results from a background investigation as well as your obtaining and maintaining the specific level U.S. government background investigation required for this role. U.S. citizenship (U.S. born or naturalized) required.

  • Demonstrated expertise and track record of architecting, implementing, and supporting Enterprise-grade (highly available, scalable, high performance & secure) infrastructure powering complex business solutions

  • Demonstrated experience with Highly-Availability, Scalability, Performance Testing & Tuning on multiple engagements

  • Experience in mentoring junior level resources, consultants, and clients while leading internal initiatives to grow Services organisation practices

  • Extensive Linux Expertise (8+ years): Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across various distributions, ensuring optimal system performance, stability, and security. Proficient in command-line tools, scripting (Bash, Python), system administration, and performance tuning.

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Cloud Computing, including infrastructure, virtualization, containerization, networking, storage, platform; or experience with traditional enterprise data-center technologies, including virtualization, RDBMS, storage appliances and private networks

  • Possesses exceptional hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, consistently demonstrating the ability to diagnose complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. This includes a proven track record in meticulously analyzing system failures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to devise innovative workarounds, and developing long-term preventative measures to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.

  • Must have a solid understanding of container runtime (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration using Kubernetes (k8s).

  • Possessing a functional understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem and its associated tools, such as Helm, Istio, and Knative.

  • Extensive practical experience with managed Kubernetes offerings such as GKE, EKS, and AKS.

  • Multi-cloud proficiency in working with AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles and experience with tools such as Git, Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.

  • Extensive working experience with Internet technologies and protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS, etc.

  • Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: Bash, Go, Python, Ruby, node.js, Rust, Java

  • Proficiency in at least one RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle DB), NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB), distributed key-value store (e.g., etcd), and Time-series DB (InfluxDB) is required.

  • Comprehensive understanding and application of security best practices, including data encryption, access control, secure coding, network security, vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance. Proactively identifies risks, implements prevention, and responds to incidents effectively.

  • Working experience with load balancing products like AWS ELB/ALB/NLB or similar, and other solutions like Nginx, HAproxy

  • Proficiency in SDLC, API Lifecycle, System Integration, and MicroServices is essential. Familiarity with Service Mesh and Serverless architectures is highly desirable.

  • Hands-on integration development experience with MuleSoft or other solutions (e.g., IBM, BEA, Oracle Fusion, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, Progress Sonic, Apigee).

  • Knowledge of open source technologies and architectures, past contributions to open source projects are highly regarded

  • Being current with emerging industry technologies and facilitating knowledge sharing through brown bag sessions and the creation of knowledge assets for the team.

  • Establish processes, methodologies and tooling to enable outcome based delivery for the delivery team. Identify gaps in different phases of project delivery: e.g. design, development, testing & deployment, fill the gaps by leveraging open source utilities (or build your own if appropriate) and industrial best practice to ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction

  • Exceptional customer-facing communication, expectation management skills, strong cognitive ability especially with respect to understanding, documenting, and translating complex customer requirements into recommendations for appropriate solution architectures

What is preferred for this position

  • Multi-cloud ready: proficiency in working with AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Requires knowledge of DevOps (Git, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, CI/CD)

  • Extensive experience with Internet technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS)

  • Implemented multiple technical integration project SDLCs end-to-end

  • Worked with load balancing products (AWS ELB/ALB/NLB, F5, Nginx, or HAproxy)

  • CKA certification required within 90 days of onboarding

  • Security+ certification required within 120 days of onboarding

  • CISSP, CISM, or Security+ (DoD 8570 or equivalent) certifications highly desirable

  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, FISMA, HIPAA, SOX)

  • Ensured enterprise software security compliance and data protection through vulnerability management, granular access control with MFA and regular reviews, data encryption, auditing/logging, and ongoing security reviews/penetration testing.

  • Configured and architected cybersecurity tools for monitoring, vulnerability management, and STIG/baselining.

  • Proficiency in AI tools, including agentic AI, AI ethics, and best practices.

  • Practical knowledge of SDLC, API Lifecycle, System Integration, Microservices, Service Mesh, and Serverless is a significant advantage.
