THE OPPORTUNITY  

The Senior Marketing Manager, Product & Category will lead product and category marketing strategies, planning, and execution for Deseret BookThis marketing leader will be focused on developing marketing plans for key driver product and categories to drive traffic and traffic conversion in Deseret Book sales channels. 

This individual will manage the creation of strategic marketing plans that define and deliver the value proposition of key products with the intent to grow the Deseret Book customer base through traditional and digital marketing effortsThey will work closely with our digital marketing team, creative team, and product team to ensure they have the information, and resources needed to showcase the value offering of the product and content and communicate it to Deseret Book customers and associates. 

Successful candidates will have an understanding of the needs and culture of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have the ability to create and execute creative and strategic plans, collaborate well with others, and give and receive focused feedback. They will leverage insights on our communities to drive strategies and plans that pulls consumers into the product and content we are offering. 

   

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:  

80% Product Marketing Strategy Development & Implementation:Develop, define, and lead the product and category marketing for Deseret Book. This includes: 

  • Strategy development: Define the product strategy for the key driver product and categories; awareness, engagement, conversion, retention, and loyalty through traditional and digital marketing channels, including, but not limited to media outlets, blogs, influencers, etc. 
  • Drive campaigns: Develop, implement, track, and optimize marketing campaigns for each product 
  • Content creation: Work with our creative and content teams to execute marketing content to support marketing plans in various marketing channels. 
  • Analyze data: Monitor marketing strategies and analyzing data to measure the success of marketing strategies 
  • Research: Conduct and analyze research to understand communities needs and how best to reach them 

20% Team Management: Manage product marketing efforts with a focus on overseeing marketing strategies and implementation. Infuse innovative marketing practices to accelerate customer experience and engagement, while increasing customer base and sales.  

   

REQUIRED SKILLS& QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field and minimum of 4-6 years' work experience in strategic marketing or brand marketing 
  • Experience with all different aspects of marketing channels 
  • Public Relations experience 
  • Product marketing strategy and skills recommended 
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply best practices  
  • Detail-oriented:  Ability to analyze results, prioritize work and organize time   
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills    
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral   
  • Familiar with Adobe Suite: (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)  
  • Self-motivated and great self-manager   
  • Great team player and works well in a collaborative environment.   
  • Must be current on market trends and customer needs in conjunction with company mission, brand, and audience
