Senior Managing Counsel - Litigation

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
Manage and resolve a wide range of corporate disputes.
Develop and implement litigation strategies, including risk assessments and settlement recommendations.
Serve as the company representative and advisor in court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations.
Direct and supervise outside counsel, ensuring alignment with company objectives and cost-effective management of legal resources.
Advise executive leadership and business units on legal rights, obligations, and risk mitigation related to litigation.
Interpret contracts, agreements, and legal memoranda related to litigation and dispute resolution.
Support Merger & Acquisition activity by advising on litigation risk and reviewing litigated-related contractual provisions.
Supervise, mentor and coach subordinate personnel.
Provide oversight for litigation support services, such as eDiscovery services and internal record retention.
Work collaboratively with Legal Operations to support onboarding and management of outside counsel, including oversight of billing guidelines and outside counsel performance.
Collaborate with HR, Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams to mitigate legal exposure.
Lead cross-functional projects impacting litigation and dispute management.
Develop and deliver legal training to business leaders and managers.
Perform other tasks supporting the litigation function.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
At least 8 years of legal experience, with significant in-house or law firm experience managing litigation for corporate clients.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and provide clear, practical legal advice.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
Leadership experience, including mentoring and managing legal teams.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience handling products liability matters is strongly preferred.
Prior work experience in the health care industry.
Experience with project management and process improvement.
Experience with multi-jurisdictional litigation and international dispute resolution.

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $207,348 - $253,425, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
