Job Title: Senior Manager – Supplier Quality

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager – Supplier Quality will lead supplier quality assurance initiatives, ensuring that all sourced components and materials meet engineering and quality standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, supplier development, and quality systems, along with leadership capabilities to drive continuous improvement across the supply base.

On a typical day you will:
  • Develop and implement supplier quality strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead supplier audits, assessments, and qualification processes ( Q+ Audits ).
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering teams to ensure supplier capabilities meet product and process requirements.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier-related quality issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as PPM, on-time delivery, and quality scorecards.
  • Establish and maintain quality agreements and standards with suppliers.
  • Support new product development through APQP, PPAP, and FAI processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Operation Excellence tools, Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / Elevator IS Codes or other relevant standards.
  • Monitor Quality Metrics & KPIs and drive quality improvements
  • Conduct various supplier quality audits and assessment to evaluate supplier performance and drive quality improvement

What You Will Need to be Successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in supplier quality, or quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components with drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Should have strong process working experience and process expertise in manufacturing processes like structural fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, Steel casting, Aluminium Die Casting, Roll forming, Precision Machining (CNC/VMC), Moulding, Mechanical system and sub system assembly.
  • Expertise with various process qualifications, part qualifications, validation & testing validation and product qualification methods
  • Expertise with APQP development processes, DFSS, DFA, DFM,DFT,PPAP, FMEA, Quality plans, Control Plans as per automotive standards.
  • Skilled and proficient in 6sigma processes, DOE, statistical quality and process controls SPC, Cpk , Procert, MSA and problem-solving methods using 8D, FTA, DIVE, etc
  • Proficiency in TQM techniques LEAN, KAIZEN, QUALITY CIRCLES, 5S Methodologies and drive quality and process improvements to achieve quality results
  • Work with cross functional team for new product development, PPAP assessments and component qualifications and approvals to meet project / program timelines.
  • Competent to train suppliers in Supplier quality processes, Quality systems and drive improvements 
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Working in Escalator manufacturing industry specifically in supplier quality function with escalator components development and approvals is highly preferred.
