Your Impact on our Mission: 

Zocdoc’s most important asset is our people.  As a Senior Engineering Manager in the Provider group, you will lead product engineering teams that serve healthcare organizations, building enterprise grade software that enables a smooth and efficient setup, onboarding and account management. Your leadership of this product engineering team will result in us shipping quickly with the right amount of investment in infrastructure, bettering our product and improving the lives of millions of patients. Your dedication to building a culture of transparency, inclusion, and support will help ensure that our engineering is always evolving and growing. Your ability to combine technical capabilities, digging into details to unblock teams and steer through complex engineering tradeoffs, with business knowledge and context is crucial for the success of Zocdoc.

As a senior technology leader in India, you will additionally have a dotted line responsibility for engineers outside of your direct reports, fostering a strong engineering culture, cross team collaboration and learning and development and scaling our engineering group in India.

Your day to day is…

  • Leading, managing and growing a large team of full-stack software engineers to deliver highly reliable, performant software solutions.
  • Partnering with product and design to build out a clear technical product strategy and roadmap.
  • Fostering a strong engineering culture, cross team collaboration and learning.
  • Mentoring and coaching a large team of engineers to maintain a high quality of work, while delivering new features and driving customer impact.
  • Growing the next set of leaders within the organization, in order to enable Zocdoc to scale.
  • Making sure we are building out the platform’s capabilities with attention to security, scale, performance and uptime.
  • Fostering the development of innovative and step change solutions by leveraging GenAI tools and other emerging technologies.

 

You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

  • Shipped multiple product features to external customers, as an IC and a Manager
  • A deep knowledge of software development methodologies
  • A passion for understanding the use cases of your customers and a focus on collaboration
  • Experience working with microservice architectures and AWS / cloud environment
  • AWS, React / JS / frontend development, C# / backend development
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and build consensus with engineers at all levels
  • The mentality of an entrepreneur/owner and a strong bias to action
  • Humility. You believe in treating all people with dignity and respect, regardless of title or tenure, and you approach tough conversations with empathy
