Job Title: Senior Manager, Project Management

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This senior role plays a vital role in the success of our company-wide program office, supporting the growth of
our shared services offerings for Thermo Fisher businesses. As the Senior Manager, Project Management, you
will be responsible for leading the implementation of projects related to transitions, migrations, process
improvements, automation, and system implementations. You will lead diverse portfolios and ensure the timely
and successful attainment of key program breakthroughs. Collaboration will be crucial, as you work with various
internal and external partners to ensure a coordinated approach across Global Business Services.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams to achieve targeted outcomes.
• Develop collaboration across multiple workstreams, effectively leading teams with varied strengths and
addressing interdependencies.
• Collaborate with key collaborators to ensure timely and high-quality execution across workstreams and
business units.
• Drive innovative thinking by integrating varied perspectives and promoting collaborative problem-solving
to translate customer needs into future state results.
• Define and maintain project scope, objectives, budget, staffing, and results through comprehensive
project plans.
• Conduct regular project assessments to ensure quality and readiness, ensuring alignment with program
goals.
• Lead project requirements, progress, and outcomes in collaboration with business, operational, IT, and
other functional teams.
• Apply tailored methodologies and strategies to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Identify and handle interdependencies, risks, and issues, facilitating decision-making through effective
risk management.
• Lead critical path processes, addressing blocking issues and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
• Act as the main point of contact for project updates, results, and challenges, communicating with senior
collaborators.
• Lead Steering Committee discussions, providing clear updates on risks, issues, actions, and decisions.
• Coordinate sophisticated project portfolios, managing changes and interventions to keep the portfolio on
track, and serve as the key point of contact for portfolio health and savings.
• Build and feed a successful, motivated team, encouraging a culture of excellence aligned with Thermo
Fisher’s values.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required, or equivalent experience will be considered.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is highly desirable.
• 10+ years of experience leading sophisticated, global programs and initiatives.
• Experience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory) or Customer Service is preferred.
• Global Business Services (GBS) experience is highly advantageous.
• Experience with Agile project management methodologies is a plus.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
