About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Are you a results-driven professional services expert with deep experience in strategic sourcing, specifically for high-value consultancy and contingent workforce engagements? We are seeking a Senior Manager, Professional Services Category Management to lead our most critical category strategies. In this highly influential role, you will be accountable for defining, executing, and optimizing our professional services spend, focusing intensely on transforming how we engage with strategic external partners and temporary resources.

This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, hands-on category execution, and the ability to influence senior executive stakeholders across the organization—all while operating as a senior individual contributor without direct reports. This role is hybrid and works out of the Atlanta or Indianapolis office three days a week.

Strategic Focus: Consultancy, Contingent Workforce, and Value Creation

This pivotal position holds primary strategic responsibility for two critical categories: Consultancy Services and Contingent Workforce, recognizing them as key drivers of business transformation and spend impact. Your mission will be to operationalize and advance robust category strategies for both, ensuring delivery of best-in-class terms and elevating the quality and measurable impact of all external strategic advice and flexible talent.

Your work will define a 6 to 12-month operational roadmap and establish frameworks that meaningfully contribute to the company's long-term capability development and risk mitigation.

Core Responsibilities and Category Governance

A crucial aspect of this position involves leading the strategic planning and execution for Consultancy Services and Contingent Workforce, anchored by a focus on governance, risk, and value realization.

Your portfolio of responsibility includes:

Consultancy Services:

  • Develop a best-in-class framework for engaging, evaluating, and managing strategic consulting firms.

  • Drive rigorous contracting standards, performance metrics, and governance to maximize the ROI of high-value engagements.

Contingent Workforce:

  • Define and execute strategies for sourcing, contracting, and managing all temporary labor and non-employee resources.

  • Ensure compliance, manage risk, and optimize cost across all staffing models (e.g., Statement of Work, Staff Augmentation).

You will apply a PillarMaturity Model standpoint to assess and advance the effectiveness of both categories, ensuring strategic progress in the following areas:

  • Process Maturity: Define and implement streamlined sourcing, contracting, and performance management processes specifically for both external consulting and contingent labor engagements.

  • Technology Enablement: Identify and champion the use of appropriate tools and systems to enhance spend visibility, sourcing execution, and category insights for both focus areas.

  • Talent & Expertise: Work with stakeholders to define the necessary internal competencies needed to manage these categories and leverage external expertise only when strategically necessary.

  • Strategic Partnership and Executive Influence

You will be the primary expert and liaison for these two critical professional services categories.

  • Internal Alignment: You will secure buy-in and drive alignment with senior internal business partners, including VP and SVP-level executives, on critical strategy development, project prioritization, and key category commitments.

  • External Relationships: You will champion 360-degree relationship management, serving as the lead interface with key strategic suppliers, consultancy firms, and staffing partners to ensure effective collaboration and continuous value creation.

  • Influence Without Authority: Success requires exceptional skill in negotiation and communication, using data and commercial expertise to influence operational decisions and secure commitment from business leaders across functional silos.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement, with demonstrable expertise managing both the Consultancy Services and Contingent Workforce categories (required).

  • Proven track record of developing and successfully implementing complex category strategies within a large, multinational organization.

  • Exceptional ability to build credibility, influence, and manage strong relationships with executive-level stakeholders (VP/SVP).

  • Deep understanding of contract negotiation, commercial law fundamentals, and supplier performance governance.

  • Superior written and verbal communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is highly desirable.
