At Armanino, the Senior Manager of Program Management is a strategic force multiplier—empowering a team of Program Managers to deliver transformative, cross-functional initiatives that shape the future of our firm. Job Responsibilities 

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Empower and coach Program Managers to achieve excellence in delivery, stakeholder engagement, and strategic alignment

  • Establish a culture of ownership, transparency, and peer accountability across the PMO

  • Drive performance enablement through regular feedback, development plans, and career pathing

  • Shape team dynamics by fostering trust, collaboration, and psychological safety

  • Develop succession plans and build a strong talent pipeline for future leadership roles

Strategic Program Oversight 

  • Steer execution of complex, cross-functional programs with a focus on business impact and ROI

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and escalation point for program risks and decisions

  • Champion consistency in governance, tools, and methodologies across the portfolio

  • Mobilize resources and influence prioritization in partnership with executive leadership

 

Operational Excellence

  • Orchestrate program health reviews, audits, and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability

  • Elevate delivery maturity through process optimization and knowledge sharing

  • Track and communicate program value, outcomes, and lessons learned

  • Define and monitor performance metrics to assess program and team effectiveness

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build trusted partnerships across Operations, Finance, IT, and firm-wide stakeholders

  • Facilitate alignment and remove barriers to execution

  • Advocate for program management as a strategic enabler of change

 

Culture Building & Influence

  • Model leadership behaviors aligned with Armanino’s values and mission

  • Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning

  • Use executive storytelling to communicate vision, progress, and impact

  • Coach team members through ambiguity and conflict with empathy and clarity

Innovation & Continuous Improvement 

  • Identify and implement improvements to PMO capabilities, tools, and frameworks

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and bring forward-thinking solutions to the team

  • Enable a learning culture through training, retrospectives, and experimentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in program/project management, including 3+ years in a leadership role managing program teams or PMOs

  • PMP and/or Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master) strongly preferred

  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, with a focus on accountability, development, and strategic impact

  • Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, cross-functional programs in a professional services or consulting environment

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategic goals into actionable program plans and measurable outcomes

  • Exceptional communication skills, including executive storytelling, stakeholder influence, and conflict resolution

  • Experience with succession planning, talent development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

  • Skilled in program performance measurement, including defining and tracking KPIs, ROI, and delivery maturity

  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive alignment across matrixed teams

  • Familiarity with modern program management tools and platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Wrike, Workday, ServiceNow, etc.)

  • Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.
