Senior Manager - Indirect Procurement position is responsible for developing and executing Stryker India’s (with primary focus on SGTC – Stryker Global Technology Centre) indirect procurement strategy in coordination with global indirect category leaders. This position influences, engages and collaborates with senior leaders, including country functional and finance leaders, to drive execution and adoption of indirect procurement best practices and deliver savings in line with the country budget initiatives (including the development and execution of processes that focus on standardization and control). Act as the primary  procurement partner to the country finance leaders and senior business leaders. 

What you will do:

  • Develop, lead, communicate and execute the indirect procurement strategy across indirect categories and coordinate the full procurement strategy to leverage India’s USD 36 million annual spend
  • Influence, engage, collaborate, and partner with senior stakeholders and coordinate the opportunity of indirect procurement savings and increased payment terms
  • Deliver on significant year over year net procurement benefits in line with the business strategic program initiatives and global category procurement strategies
  • Lead negotiations of complex country level agreements
  • Lead and collaborate with functional partners and legal counsel to establish supplier contracts that ensure functional supply needs as well as appropriate risk mitigation of Stryker’s commercial, data and other supply chain risks
  • Provide strategic sourcing support and leadership for critical supplier management relationships to drive continuous improvement and effeciencies
  • Maintain a deep understanding of indirect suppliers, products, and market trends; actively implement procurement best practices to drive value and superior service from the supply base
  • Partner with function/budget spend owners to execute the sourcing process, including supplier identification, competitive bidding, negotiations, selection, contracting, and performance management
  • Understand changes in local legislation and implement new processes to comply with them
  • Implement measures to monitor compliance to Procurement Policy and business controls
  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Ensure proper documentation, records, guidelines, processes etc. are in place for internal reviews and external submissions.

What you need:

  • 13-18 years of relevant procurement working experience, with at least 5 years in a medium-large strategic procurement organization or equivalent (or through large client work at a top-tier management consultancy)
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and gain alignment to pursue strategic procurement initiatives and proven leadership experience
  • Ability to identify and solve problems related to the procurement process and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of procurement professionals and influence talent strategy in the department
  • Strong analytical skills, financial and business acumen and ability to lead a diverse team
  • Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain Mgt, Engineering, Finance or equivalent), required, MBA in related discpilines is preferred
  • Sourcing/Supply Chain certifications, desired (e.g. CPSM, Certified Professional in Supply Management)

Travel Percentage: 10%
