We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Commercial to join Liberty Blume in London, United Kingdom
We are looking for a senior, hands-on commercial manager to own growth across priority verticals, build win-win partnerships with lenders and retailers/installers, and run the commercial & sales operating system end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Growth
Define and execute the commercial strategy for renewable energy and consumer hardware segments across UK & EU.
Map and prioritize target sub-segments (e.g., solar EPCs, regional installers, OEMs, e-commerce, telco/device resellers) with clear entry plays and unit-economics thresholds.
Shape product/offer constructs with Product & Risk (APR bands, term/tenor, deposit rules, bundles, promotions, returns/upgrade pathways).
Partnerships & Business Development
Source, negotiate, and onboard lenders (banks, specialist finance, green funds) and retailers/installer networks to drive GMV.
Build joint business plans, quarterly account reviews, and executive relationships; resolve issues fast (pricing, SLAs, underwriting, payouts).
Lead commercial tenders/RFPs and co-marketing programs with partners.
Sales Execution & Operations
Own the sales pipeline: ICP definition, outreach cadences, demos, proposals, legal/commercial negotiation, signed agreements, launch.
Stand up a repeatable sales playbook and enablement (battlecards, ROI/finance calculators, objection handling, compliance guardrails).
Run forecasting, territory planning, quotas/comp, and rhythm of business (weekly pipeline reviews, QBRs).
Lender Relationship Management
Develop lender panels and capacity planning; align underwriting criteria, eligibility rules, and pricing.
Drive performance optimization: approval rates, time-to-decision, SLAs, waterfall/sequencing, and portfolio quality.
Collaborate on risk-based pricing, promotional APRs, and product pilots (DaaS, upgrade programs).
Commercial Analytics & Unit Economics
Own GMV, take-rate, margin, CAC/LTV, payback, and contribution profit by partner and segment.
Build dashboards with RevOps/Data to measure funnel health (lead→activated partner→funded deals), attach rates, and arrears/returns impact.
Run experiments (pricing, incentives, merchandising) and scale what works.
Contracts, Compliance & Governance
Lead commercial terms (pricing, SLAs, marketing rights, data sharing, termination) with Compliance and Legal.
Ensure sales practices align with UK/EU consumer credit rules (e.g., fair value, affordability/creditworthiness, vulnerable customers) in partnership with Compliance.
Maintain accurate records for audits and partner reports.
Leadership
Hire, coach, and develop a small team (BD and Graduates).
Foster a performance culture: clear goals, transparent dashboards, and continuous improvement.
What success looks like (KPIs)
GMV: Growth QoQ / YoY in target verticals;
Partner Activation: Number of signed & launched retailers/installers; time-to-first-funded order.
Lender Capacity & Performance: approval rate, time-to-decision, utilization of allocations, NPS.
Unit Economics: contribution margin per partner; CAC payback within target.
Forecast Accuracy: ±10% against quarterly plan; healthy, verified pipeline coverage (≥3×).
Skills and Qualifications
Relevant years in commercial, partnerships, or sales leadership in one or more of: embedded finance/point-of-sale, green/renewables, consumer hardware/telco, fintech lending, payments.
Proven track record closing and scaling multi-stakeholder B2B2C partnerships (OEMs, retailers, installer networks, lenders).
Strong command of unit economics and deal modelling (pricing, take rates, MDF/coop, incentives).
Comfortable negotiating commercial & data-sharing agreements and navigating procurement /compliance reviews.
Hands-on operator: builds decks, runs demos, edits proposals, updates Salesforce/HubSpot, and jumps into negotiations personally.
Excellent executive communication; able to navigate between lenders, retailers, product, risk, and compliance.
Nice to have
Experience with device-as-a-service or upgrade programs, buyback/renewal flows, returns and lifecycle partners.
