The opportunity

The Senior Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to Technology departmental leadership teams in supporting them to achieve their objectives.  This role is responsible for driving cultural alignment and engagement across the division and facilitating cascade of communications to teams.  This role also works closely with senior leadership, business line leaders and a diverse set of stakeholders to facilitate and support strategic planning, ensure focus on shaping the department agendas, and managing and integrating enterprise initiatives.

Who you'll work with

This role will work closely with leaders of all levels within the Technology division as well as across divisions (e.g., P&C, Communications, Finance)

From time to time, depending on the initiatives assigned, this role may also work with project teams, process and change managers etc., to effectively deliver on targeted outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Develop pragmatic approaches and frameworks to drive cultural alignment and employee engagement.  This includes supporting P&C employee engagement initiatives and facilitating the cascade of department goals and communications in Technology.

  • Design and integrate practices into daily work that enables leaders to dedicate effort and attention on improvement in key areas.

  • Seek process improvement to maximize efficiency, leveraging AI where appropriate.

  • Build and implement a plan to identify the cadence of key discussion topics at leadership meetings and engage the team to ensure the plan drives the necessary agendas appropriately.

  • Ensure all metrics reporting processes are executed, including the monthly/quarterly cycle of divisional reporting and coordinate with relevant metric owners to collect explanations on variances and ensure remediation plans are in place if needed.

  • Lead, facilitate and support technology leaders in strategic planning, initiative prioritization, and make connections to divisional priorities, capture outcomes and create objectives; work with key stakeholders to identify gaps/issues critical to strategic and operational success.

  • In partnership with senior leaders and P&C, design, implement, lead and facilitate employee engagement and communication strategies including events/channels such as Townhalls, ONTEN, Teams Bits & Bytes, etc.

  • Lead, facilitate and support Technology stakeholders and represent the division in the areas of:

    • Metrics development and reporting

    • New ways of working

    • Culture

    • Other Enterprise projects, as assigned

  • Prepare strategic documents to assist the leadership team with departmental and divisional communications and presentations.

  • Support preparation of ET and Board presentation materials, where needed.

  • Support TPP leader with assigned projects and operational obligations, as required.

  • Develop and execute on assigned initiatives that support the efficiency of planning and operations within the division.

  • Design the overarching divisional communication strategy and employee engagement approach.

  • Keep abreast of cultural sentiment across the division, provide recommendations to leadership teams and execute on cultural initiatives/activities accordingly.

  • Foster a continuous improvement and learning environment, drive performance and accountability, and maximize efficiency through the application of AI and automation, where applicable and appropriate.

  • Decide on key recommendations to be made to the divisional and departmental leadership teams on priorities and implementation of initiatives.

What you'll need

  • University graduate

  • An MBA or prior experience in a consulting role is beneficial.

  • Demonstrated organization, facilitation, project management, critical thinking, communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong collaboration and acknowledged team player.

  • Able to influence without authority, engage stakeholders effectively, and make recommendations

  • Able to translate strategic intent into action.

  • Understanding of general business and management practices, particularly within the context of technology operations within financial services

  • Strong operational efficiency knowledge

  • Demonstrated application of AI tools that drive improved productivity

  • Foundational familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), including the ability to understand basic data flow concepts and make edits to existing reports/dashboards.

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years related work experience desired

  • Experienced leader who is able to influence at senior levels of the organization.
