We are a high growth company that currently serves 11,000+ doctors across 3 provinces to provide market-leading software for physicians medical billing. What is the opportunity?

As Head of Billing Operations at Dr.Bill, you will lead our Billing Team, overseeing day to day billing operations ensure that we are delivering service effectively to our customers in ON, BC, AB. Reporting into Dr.Bill’s Chief Operating Officer, this is a high impact role where you will support our growth strategy as we chart a course for scale across Canada.

This is a full-time in-office position that can be based out of any of our RBCx locations in Toronto, Vancouver, or Montreal.

What will you do?

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the Billing Operations team, providing guidance and support for efficient and accurate billing processes.
  • Team Development: Manage and mentor a team of billing specialists, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tech, product, design, sales, and customer experience, to resolve billing-related and system issues and improve overall efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve billing operations, including process automation, workflow optimization, and quality control measures.
  • Performance Optimization: Drive agent capacity and productivity through upskilling, strategic initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations and changes in medical billing practices, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary updates.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present reports on billing operations, including metrics, trends, and recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives that support business growth and scaling, collaborating with Ops Leadership and stakeholders across RBCx and RBC.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 5-7 years leading and managing a high-performing operations team, preferably in healthcare, insurance or financial services
  • Proven track record of driving productivity, capacity, and streamlining operations
  • Excellent leadership and management, communication, collaboration, problem solving  skills
  • Ability to travel within Canada occasionally

Nice to Have

  • Experience with medical billing, medical billing software, systems, and EMRs
  • Training or experience with Process Improvement / Optimization
  • Experience in Canadian Healthcare or a Canadian Health Tech company
