Senior Lead Product Manager-Debit Cards

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Product Manager for Debit Cards within Consumer Small & Business Banking. This role will be responsible for elevating Wells Fargo’s leading position in Debit Card and Digital Payments by providing strategic thinking, product leadership and initiative execution for individual products and features for debit cards and digital wallets. This skilled individual will lead product innovation by bringing customer experience enhancements to debit cards and digital wallets and deliver the vision and roadmap for Family Banking solutions and other critical customer segments while driving growth in debit and digital payments.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of customer segmentation with particular focus on products for Family banking solutions and the digital payments ecosystem, detailed knowledge of digital capabilities and mobile technologies, and an understanding of the different systems and processes that enable best-in-class card transaction processing. This knowledge and experience will be leveraged to effectively innovate and implement various debit card capabilities, digital payments, and tokenization projects, through close partnership with teams across the enterprise that include Enterprise Payments, Credit Card, Merchant Services, Lending, Digital, Marketing, Fraud, Legal, and Risk and Control teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead strategic product vision and execution by monitoring market trends, shaping and maintaining the roadmap for Family Banking debit card products and broader segmentation priorities

  • Drive growth in digital payments and wallets across Penetration, Activation and Usage metrics

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Payments, Credit Card, Merchant Services, Lending, Digital, Marketing, Fraud, Legal, and Risk—to deliver cutting-edge capabilities and ensure seamless product lifecycle management.

  • Provide business leadership for strategy delivery

  • Manage the full product lifecycle, including end-of-life transitions aligned with market needs.

  • Plan and establish requirements for core debit card products and digital wallet/payment features.

  • Shape the consumer experience by developing detailed Family Banking and Youth product plans.

  • Build go-to-market strategies, define success metrics, and secure business case approvals.

  • Serve as a technical or portfolio subject matter expert, partnering with internal and external teams to drive success of products and features

  • Oversee development activities, identify gaps, manage testing, and drive implementation.

  • Promote and adhere to risk management processes, controls, and procedures throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Stay ahead of market trends including industry, competitive, and technology developments, including contactless payments, IOT, new wallets, and tokenization.

  • Identify unmet customer needs and translate insights into innovative digital wallet and payment solutions

  • Track and report on financial, consumer, product, and market metrics to evaluate success and inform future strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery, or agile product owner experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven product strategy development experience

  • Deep understanding of customer segmentation, mobile technologies, and the digital payments ecosystem.

  • Segmentation expertise, including analyzing segment data, identifying opportunities, and prioritizing high-value initiatives

  • Experience in digital payments, digital channels, or fintech

  • Knowledge of Agile and speed-to-market project methodologies

  • Strong understanding of product or program management, including roadmap development, strategy creation, and lifecycle management from ideation to delivery

  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to create compelling presentations, develop advanced data visualizations, and perform complex data analysis using formulas, pivot tables, and charts.

  • Relationship management skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong partnerships

  • Ability to research and stay current on industry trends and evolving customer preferences

  • Track record of delivering results at pace in a dynamic environment

  • Self-starter with high energy and motivation; works well independently

  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration experience across cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)

  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to translate insights into strategic imperatives

  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels

  • MBA strongly preferred


Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Salary Range:

Minnesota: $139,000- $239,000 annually

Actual salary is determined by location, experience, and qualifications of the job.
