We are seeking an exceptional Senior Lead Planner with 10-15 years of progressive experience to lead the planning and execution of complex interior fit-out projects. This strategic leadership role requires a seasoned professional with proven expertise in large-scale commercial construction planning, advanced team management capabilities, and executive-level client relationship skills to deliver premium interior projects exceeding $25M in value.
Develop and execute comprehensive planning strategies for interior fit-out projects valued at $25M-$100M+, managing multiple concurrent projects with combined values exceeding $200M
Create sophisticated project schedules, resource optimization models, and risk mitigation frameworks using advanced planning methodologies and enterprise-level software platforms
Lead cross-functional project teams of 15-25 professionals including planners, coordinators, design teams, and construction managers
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with tier-one contractors, specialty subcontractors, and design consultants across multiple market sectors
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices across the planning department
Develop complex work breakdown structures, critical path networks, and resource-loaded schedules for multi-phase interior projects with 18-36 month durations
Orchestrate intricate coordination between architectural teams, MEP engineers, specialty contractors, and building operations for occupied building renovations
Implement advanced planning techniques including 4D modeling, lean construction principles, and integrated project delivery methods
Manage sophisticated change management processes, including complex scope modifications and schedule compression scenarios
Oversee budget planning and forecasting for large-scale projects, including cost-loaded schedules and earned value management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8-12 senior planners and project coordinators, providing career development guidance and technical training
Establish department standards, procedures, and quality control protocols for planning excellence
Drive recruitment, performance management, and succession planning for planning department growth
Foster collaborative leadership across multidisciplinary teams and matrix organizations
Champion innovation in planning technologies and methodologies
Serve as executive-level interface for Fortune 500 clients, building long-term strategic relationships that drive repeat business
Lead high-stakes client presentations to C-suite executives, presenting complex project strategies, risk assessments, and recovery plans
Manage client expectations during challenging project scenarios, providing transparent communication and solution-oriented leadership
Facilitate executive steering committee meetings, design charrettes, and strategic planning sessions
Develop and maintain relationships with key industry partners, regulatory authorities, and municipal agencies
Implement comprehensive risk management frameworks, including probabilistic scheduling, Monte Carlo analysis, and contingency planning
Ensure compliance with complex building codes, life safety requirements, and sustainability standards across diverse market sectors
Lead quality assurance programs and implement continuous improvement initiatives across all planning activities
Maintain executive-level project governance and reporting protocols for senior management and client leadership teams
10-15 years of progressive experience in construction planning with minimum 8 years focused on large-scale interior fit-out projects
Proven track record of successfully delivering 20+ interior projects valued at $25M+ each, with demonstrated expertise in projects exceeding $50M
Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience managing planning departments of 8+ professionals
Executive-level client management experience with Fortune 500 companies across multiple sectors including corporate headquarters, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, and retail
Experience with complex occupied building renovations, phased construction, and critical operations continuity requirements
Commercial construction experience including office buildings, retail centers, hospitality facilities, healthcare institutions, and mixed-use developments
Infrastructure project experience with utilities coordination, site development, transportation systems, and public works projects
Industrial construction background including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, and specialized industrial fit-outs
Institutional project experience with educational facilities, government buildings, cultural institutions, and public assembly spaces
High-rise construction experience including core and shell coordination, vertical transportation systems, and building envelope integration
Mission-critical facility experience including data centers, laboratories, clean rooms, and specialized technical environments
Historic renovation and adaptive reuse projects requiring specialized planning approaches and regulatory compliance
Design-build, construction management, and public-private partnership (PPP) project delivery experience
Expert-level proficiency in enterprise planning platforms: Primavera P6 Enterprise, Microsoft Project Server, Synchro 4D, Navisworks
Advanced expertise in BIM coordination, clash detection, and integrated project delivery platforms
Comprehensive knowledge of building systems integration, MEP coordination, and specialty fit-out requirements
Sophisticated understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Advanced financial acumen including cost modeling, budget forecasting, and earned value management systems
Exceptional executive communication skills with proven ability to present complex technical information to C-level audiences
Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution expertise with experience managing high-stakes project disputes and recovery scenarios
Strategic business development capabilities with track record of expanding client relationships and driving repeat business
Change management expertise with experience leading organizational transformation and process improvement initiatives
Mentoring and talent development experience with demonstrated success in building high-performing teams
Bachelor's degree required in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project management certification
LEED Accredited Professional (AP) with Building Design + Construction or Operations + Maintenance specialty
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through Construction Management Association of America
Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification through AACE International
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification for process improvement expertise
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification for enhanced safety leadership
Professional Engineer (PE) license in relevant engineering discipline
Active membership in professional organizations such as PMI, CMAA, IFMA, AACE International, or CSI
Continuing education participation in construction technology, sustainability practices, and advanced project delivery methods
