Responsibilities
You shall serve as the main point of contact for all labor relations matters, providing guidance and support to management and employees
We expect you to develop and maintain positive relationships with union representatives, fostering a collaborative working environment
You will be responsible for negotiating collective bargaining agreements and managing grievances and arbitrations in accordance with legal requirements
You should conduct investigations into employee complaints or allegations of unfair labor practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws
We expect you to provide training and education programs to management and employees on labor relations topics, promoting understanding and adherence to labor laws and regulations
You shall stay updated on changes in labor laws and industry trends, proactively identifying potential impacts on the organization and recommending appropriate actions
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, organizational development, management or a related field required
3 + years of Labour Relations work experience required, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
3+ years of experience administering a range of Labour Relations activities including: collective agreement administration, grievance and issue management, collective bargaining, union/management relations, performance management and conflict resolution processes
Proficient understanding of employment legislation and case law
You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with employees, union representatives, and senior leaders
Your ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including unions and management, is crucial in this role
This is an 100% onsite position with limited flexibility to work from home
