Generate and evaluate samples in the laboratory to support development, product quality control and process research, development programs and improvement of chemical processes

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and evaluate experiments in labs or pilot plants applying state of the art analytical/preparative methods
  • Optimize processes and ensure trouble free operations by maintaining and providing records and reports of test results and specific observations and interact with customers
  • Generate, test and/or evaluate lab-scale samples, also for customer, technical, process and product research programs and manufacturing support according to standard procedures to ensure product quality
  • Research, provide and apply relevant information in a defined area of expertise to enable problem solving and further decisions
  • Understand and operate according to HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality), SOPs (standard operating procedures) and responsible care rules, regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
  • Check and maintain the equipment to ensure a good condition and proper working

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Physics, or Material Science
  • Physical testing experience with tensile testing, DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analysis), adhesion testing and/or coefficient of friction testing

Knowledge and Skills

  • Casting and curing films for testing
  • Blend-up of chemical formulations
  • Viscosity testing
  • Optical fiber testing
  • Analytical testing
  • Safety minded
  • Good record keeping with using electronic lab notebook

Pay range:  $49,700 - $92,300
