Glimpse of the Job and Opportunity to Contribute 

The Strategic Alliances & Partners department is hiring a Senior Information Technology Professional I, who will: Provide technical leadership and oversight for multiple Apple and Microsoft desktop environments, application of and compliance with the unit’s technical standards, and coordinate the technical activities of a project team. Additionally, the position will be responsible for completing reports and summaries for management and users including project status reports, problem reports, and progress summaries.

The ideal candidate excels at troubleshooting and problem-solving, is known for getting stuff done, and being resourceful and creative.

Salary: Up to $68,000

Location: College Station, Texas

Schedule: This role may require working outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the demands of technology services and ensure the seamless operation of essential systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of related experience
  • Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted asylum or refugee status in accordance with 15 CFR, Part 762; 22 CFR §§122.5, 123.22 and 123.26; and 31 CFR § 501.601

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in server and workstation lifecycle management to include deployment, endpoint configuration, and patching
  • Experience developing security standards, as well as auditing and remediation of endpoints

Responsibilities

  • Team and Project Management: Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop a work plan and time schedules to ensure timely resolutions to incidents and requests. Identify and assign tasks to appropriate personnel and follow up. Assist in and make recommendations based on the evaluation of software and hardware products for their applicability to the system and/or project. Ensure documentation of changes to systems.

  • Customer support: Provide primary computer support, including installations, consulting, training, and other technical support for multiple business offices supported by the Executive Support unit. Provide secondary support for administrative offices located in the Jack K. Williams Administration Building.

  • Endpoint Management: Desktop engineering team member, utilize various system platforms to configure, manage, and update endpoints, and maintain their configuration, security, and licensing compliance.

  • General Support: Research, recommend, and resolves a wide range of technical and procedural problems for the customer. Provide estimates and progress reports. Serve on committees as needed to develop technical needs, standards, and directions. Work with departmental staff to understand and outline goals and objectives for departmental technology needs. Make recommendations to create efficiency and enhance operations of the department. Ensure work is accurate and in compliance with the department or project quality standards. Attend training and professional development sessions as needed.
