About the role
As the Senior Investigator – Covert Operations, you will work within our Loss Prevention team to take the lead or delegate on a variety of differing types of investigations as well as provide recommendations on appropriate management controls.
You will work with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels of the business across the end-to-end investigation process. You will investigate and remedy all actual and potential areas of loss and breaches of policy and procedures.
What's involved:
Conduct end-to-end investigations according to business guidelines to an appropriate outcome, including reporting back to stakeholders on completion with outcomes
Assess and review preliminary investigations undertaken by Loss Prevention Advisors, providing advice and guidance or taking on complex cases
Guide and mentor key stakeholders in developing and implementing appropriate prevention methodologies, including recommendations from completed investigations
Identify current and future risks to the business and produce workable solutions to focus on risk reduction and crime prevention
Coach, mentor and guide the Loss Prevention team as needed across the process
Who we’re looking for:
You will be experienced across a similar environment, ideally having dealt heavily with investigations. You may have come from a background within retail, HR or law enforcement and will bring excellent skills in understanding the complexities of loss prevention.
You’ll be highly analytical, able to problem solve and make decisions across appropriate outcomes as well as well adept at interviewing to ensure a thorough investigation is completed.
You’ll be comfortable taking the lead on complex investigations and utilising your knowledge across the legislative landscape, whilst also understanding your obligations within your role.
You’ll need:
Previous experience in a similar role, with strong experience in conducting investigations, preferably within retail or law enforcement
University Graduate and/or Professional Certificate or equivalent
Strong understanding and application of relevant New Zealand legislation
Demonstrated proficiency in statement taking, evidence gathering and brief/document preparation
Ability to lead others, coach, mentor and train other team members on Loss Prevention
Great communication skills as well as the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the business
This role will be predominantly based out of our Support Office location and require travel between store locations across NZ. A vehicle is provided, so a valid driver’s licence is essential.
