Job Title: Senior Financial Risk Oversight Expert (Short-Term Assignment)

Duration: 6-7 months (Dec’25 till June ’26)
Location: Amsterdam

Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional for a short-term assignment within the Financial Risk Oversight (FR-O) pillar of the Financial Risk- Capital & Analyses team. The ideal candidate will experience extensive exposure in financial risk management and will require to demonstrate strong leadership, coordination and analytical capabilities across the financial risk framework.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Risk Identification & Self-Assessment (RI&SA)

  • Lead the identification and assessment of financial risks as part of the annual ING-wide bottom-up RI&SA process.
  • Prepare and present RI&SA results to FR management.
  • Review and update FR sections in the ING-wide Risk Matrix and Procedure.
  • Maintain ownership of relevant documentation and serve as the point of contact (POC) for FR.

2. Financial Risk Appetite Statement (RAS)

  • Own and manage the FR RAS framework and execution.
  • Coordinate and review the Financial Risk Appetite during the annual ING-wide process.
  • Support submissions to various committees and maintain associated documents and dashboards.
  • Contribute to the review of the ING-wide framework and act as POC for FR.

3. Financial Risk Analysis and Advisory

  • Coordinate and review FR inputs for senior management reporting and annual meetings with Rating Agencies.
  • Provide insights for geopolitical risk assessments.
  • Support the ICLAAP process, including documentation and RACI matrix reviews.
  • Assist in resolving FR-O related internal and external findings.
  • Serve as POC for FR.

4. Annual Financial Risk Reporting

  • Lead the coordination and review of the Financial Risk section in the Annual Report and related documents.
  • Support the SOX compliance process.
  • Act as POC for FR.

5. Committee and Governance Support

  • Serve as Secretary for the Capital & ALM Risk Committee (CARC), including coordination and preparation of materials.
  • Drive improvements and redesigns of CARC to ensure it remains effective and efficient.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial risk management, preferably has been part of senior management discussions.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ING-wide risk frameworks and governance processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines together with the team.
