Department Summary
The Service Business Line within South America Sales & Services is the driving force behind customer success. Our Field Services and Technical Expert Services teams deliver high-value maintenance, optimization, and reliability solutions to ensure maximum uptime and productivity. Based in Arequipa, you will collaborate with global experts and local teams to support and lead FLS’s service excellence across Peru and the Andean region.
Role Summary
As a Senior Field Services Specialist – Crushers, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our customers’ crushing operations. You’ll act as a technical leader, advisor, and mentor, providing hands-on expertise in equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
This is a high-impact role for an experienced professional ready to combine deep technical knowledge with strong customer engagement skills, ensuring FLS’s solutions deliver superior reliability and performance in every operation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance and support to customers and internal teams during installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of FLSmidth crushing equipment.
Lead turnkey and specialized service projects, ensuring safety, scope, quality, and timelines are met.
Perform diagnostics, root cause analyses (RCA), and reliability assessments on-site to enhance equipment performance and prevent failures.
Develop and execute field service plans aligned with customer priorities and business objectives.
Prepare detailed technical service reports and statistical analyses to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Conduct expert training sessions for internal teams and client personnel to build operational excellence.
Support commercial and technical initiatives by identifying business opportunities during site visits.
Collaborate with planning, cost, and project management teams to prepare accurate technical-economic proposals.
Promote FLS’s values of Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation in every customer interaction.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering (or related).
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of crushing or concentrator plant equipment in mining operations.
Strong knowledge of crusher operation, mechanical systems, and process performance optimization.
Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple field projects simultaneously.
Advanced understanding of maintenance methodologies (preventive, predictive, and corrective).
Availability for frequent travel across Peru and the region.
English proficiency is a strong asset.
