Job Summary
The Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for independently performing advanced maintenance, repair, inspection, and modification of buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues across mechanical systems and performs skilled trades work such as carpentry, and infrastructure improvements. The Senior Technician provides technical expertise, mentors others, and contributes to facility improvement initiatives with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance inspections to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve advanced facility and equipment issues.
Diagnose and repair complex problems with mechanical systems independently.
Perform skilled trades work including carpentry, drywall repair, and minor construction projects to maintain and improve facilities.
Install, calibrate, and maintain building systems and equipment to comply with codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications.
Respond to service requests and work orders with minimal supervision, prioritizing activities to reduce operational disruptions.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, materials used, and compliance documentation.
Monitor inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; coordinate procurement and manage usage.
Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to plan and execute complex repairs and upgrades.
Provide training, technical guidance, and mentoring to less experienced maintenance technicians.

Typical Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade school training in a relevant field strongly preferred.
7+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building systems repair, or skilled trades.
Relevant certifications preferred (OSHA safety training).
