About your team

 

The ISS Client Propositions group at Fidelity International is the connective tissue between our Investment Management and Distribution teams. Client Propositions brings together the key areas that support client functions, including Investment Directing, Product, and Client Solutions. The vision for Client Propositions is to ensure Fidelity is regarded as a market leader and partner in investment products, solutions and services. We will build innovative propositions that deliver optimal commercial outcomes, by connecting client needs globally with the full range of Fidelity’s investment capabilities.

 

Day-to-day, the Investment Directing teams are well integrated within their respective areas of focus, sitting in close proximity to the investment management teams accountable for delivering on clients’ needs across Fidelity’s suite of investment portfolios. The Equity Investment Directing team supports the development and growth of Fidelity’s Equity business, with the aim of commercialising our equity investment solutions and the company’s investment capabilities. The team is responsible for representing the equity group to prospective and existing clients, reporting on portfolios, promoting thought leadership, creating new investment capabilities to meet investors’ demands, and generating marketing material to support sales activity. The team encompasses a strong knowledge of bond markets, a deep and continuously developing knowledge of portfolio strategies, ability to communicate these in different formats and to support sales teams through direct client relationships where appropriate.

 

The equity team at Fidelity International manage in excess of $US 200bn (as at 31 May 2024) of equity portfolios on behalf of institutional, wholesale and retail clients globally. The equity team is a globally integrated team, with close collaboration between its European, Asian and Canadian hubs.

 

About your role

 

This position will be situated in Fidelity’s London based Equities Investment Directing Team. As a senior equity investment specialist, you will assume responsibility for a series of equity strategies, with expectation of client engagement in due course. As a senior specialist, the expectation is that you will be able to operate in a flexible manner to accommodate the specific demands of the business. Your role will involve, independent working, alongside supporting the investment director(s) and portfolio managers, coordinating communication activities on their behalf as well as being responsible for addressing fund-related queries/requests from sales, marketing, RFP and press colleagues.  In addition to this, as a senior specialist the expectation will be that the individual can play a more active role in activities such as client engagement as the business requires.

 

Core activities:

  • Understand different equity strategies, characteristics and key selling points.

  • Adapt to a flexible coverage model; responding to business needs.

  • Help to drive collaborative working practices across the group.

  • Provide client facing support where there are business requirements.

  • Work closely with Investment Directors and independently, both pro-actively suggesting ideas for content as well as sourcing information in response to client queries.

  • Tailor and edit content to reinforce core messages and make it appropriate for onward distribution.

  • Write and distribute fund updates including key portfolio changes and performance updates, and ensure compliance requirements are met.

  • Ensure timely and relevant response to client investment queries.

  • Work closely with Investment Fund Analysts and Investment Specialists in India to ensure timely, high-quality, reporting and presentation updates.

  • Review, and contribute to, RFP content for new opportunities/mandates.

  • Understand the key barriers to sale for priority products and deliver solutions through effective communication.

  • Understand which information is relevant to client-facing personnel and ensure effective distribution.

  • Be proficient in understanding how to extract and interpret technical fund information from company IT systems.

 

About you

  • Experience of Bloomberg and / or LSEG Refinitiv would be a plus
