Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Architecture

  • Design and Implement: Own the architecture, design, and implementation of a robust, scalable, and maintainable automation framework 
  • CI/CD Integration: Drive the full integration of automated tests (UI, API, Unit, Integration) into the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to enable "Shift-Left" testing.
  • Cloud Testing Focus: Define specific strategies for testing cloud-native services, including containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless functions.
  • Tool Evaluation: Research, evaluate, and recommend new testing tools, technologies, and AI/ML solutions to enhance test coverage and efficiency, particularly in a cloud context.

Technical Leadership & Execution

  • Hands-on Development: Serve as a hands-on coding expert, developing complex automated test scripts for APIs, microservices, and user interfaces using industry-standard languages 
  • Defect Management: Oversee the defect lifecycle, ensuring timely root cause analysis, and implementing preventative measures within the automation suite.

Team & Collaboration

  • Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of QA and SDET engineers on automation best practices, framework usage, and cloud testing methodologies.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Cloud Architects, and DevOps teams to understand technical requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure testing aligns with the overall cloud roadmap.
  • Reporting: Establish and monitor key quality metrics (KPIs), providing clear, actionable reports on test coverage, release readiness, and overall system quality to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing, with 3+ years in a dedicated Test Automation Lead or Architect role.
  • Cloud Expertise: Proven experience testing and automating solutions hosted on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and related services (e.g., EC2/VMs, S3/Storage, Kubernetes).
  • Framework Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of designing and implementing test automation frameworks from scratch using common tools 
  • Testing Types: In-depth experience with API automation and integrating tests into Git-based source control and CI tools.
  • Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
