Role Overview:
Senior Director, Software Engineering to be part of our Network Product Engineering team and lead Network Detection and Response (NDR) Product Engineering Team.Trellix Network Security Products offers layers of cyber threat protection that secures organizations against the risk of costly breaches. Trellix Network Detection Response (NDR) offers capabilities that detect and stop advanced, targeted attacks within internal networks and between internal and external networks using behavioral techniques including machine learning, and facilitates resolution with concrete evidence, actionable intelligence and response workflows. Trellix Network Sensors ( NX, IPS) extends critical dimensions of protection and detection with its signature based and signatureless capabilities against Exploits, Malwares, Callbacks, Lateral Movements and APTs across On Premise, Cloud and Hybrid environment while PX Sensor completes the forensic capabilities much needed in a post breach scenario. Trellix Network Security portfolio has a broad base of Government, Large and Medium size Enterprise customers worldwide.

About the role:
We're looking for a Senior Director, Software Engineering to be part of our Network Security Product Engineering team. Reporting to the VP, Software Engineering, you'll be responsible for:
Shaping the long-term vision for Network Detection and Response (NDR) product to add compelling capabilities for north-south and east-west detections through collaboration with product management team, network security research team and hardware engineering team.
Build NDR capabilities to enable SOC analysts ingest, investigate and respond to network threats by offering a comprehensive threat investigation workflow.
Leading a team of innovators to build Rule based and machine learning based detections, enhance the technology stack for improved scale, long term storage of evidence gathered as well as native integrations with other security products like SIEM and EDR.
About you:
24+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of building and shipping high-quality software, including 5+ years of experience of developing security products like NDR, SIEM, EDR
5-10 years of leadership experience managing teams of 25+ development and test engineers.
Experienced with building distributed systems for event processing at scale for the cloud and OnPrem customers.
Proven expertise with planning and executing scalable, reliable, and high quality products with significant customer footprint across multiple regions.
Hands on with technical strategy, system design, and guiding architecture with proficiency in Java, Python, Golang, or Rust.
Excellent People Management skills to coach and grow a passionate and enthusiastic team of engineers and managers.
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
What Will Make One Standout (Optional Qualifications)
Experience building Network Security products for OnPrem and Cloud deployments like Firewall, IPS, Proxy.
Experience managing Development, Test engineering and customer escalation functions.
Collaborate Across Boundaries: Partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including product management, Security Research, and other engineering teams, to define roadmaps and deliver cohesive solutions.
Champion Excellence: Uphold and improve engineering best practices, driving technical and operational excellence within the team.
Communicate with Clarity: Leverage your strong communication skills to articulate technical vision, strategy, and project status.
Experience in the cybersecurity or AI/ML domain.
Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
