Job Description
 

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. In this role, as Senior Director, Global Value & Access Strategy, you will be responsible for developing Global Value & Access strategies for the HIV prevention portfolio. Critical to the success of this role is the ability to influence cross functional leadership and enterprise decision making to optimise value, access and reimbursement, as well as working closely with country teams to develop and implement global strategies and launch plans for HIV prevention. The role scope covers the full product lifecycle for HIV prevention assets, giving an opportunity to develop a breadth of experience from early-stage pipeline through to launch and lifecycle management. You will be the voice and champion of core global markets feeding their needs into the development of Global strategy and materials to maximize product potential and access.
 

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Value & Access HIV, our Senior Director, Global Value & Access Strategy – HIV Prevention will be:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of Global V&A strategies, launch plans and lifecycle management to optimise access, reimbursement and uptake of Gilead’s HIV Prevention portfolio in core global markets
  • Representing global markets’ V&A perspective with comprehensive input to clinical development, program strategy and commercialisation teams, ensuring global payer/HTA perspectives and evidence requirements are reflected.
    • Partner closely with Global HEOR and Global Pricing & Analytics to bring relevant insights and expertise to global teams and governance decisions.
    • Co-lead the HIV Value & Access Strategy Team (VAST), engaging core markets to provide input to global strategy & deliverables
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners/leaders in Global Strategic Marketing (GSM), Global Decision Science & Insights (GDSI), Global Medical Affairs (GMA), Government Affairs & Policy, Public Affairs and Regulatory Affairs to drive integrated HIV Prevention strategies
  • Cultivating close partnership with country general managers & cross-functional leadership in core markets to develop a deep understanding of their local environment & business needs.
  • Bringing the global V&A perspective towards internal and external communications planning. 
  • Co-lead (with Global Strategic Marketing) the development of cross-functional stakeholder engagement plans to shape the access and policy landscape for HIV Prevention.
  • Lead payer, pricing & access and competitive research to understand value perception, landscape, evolving trends, value drivers and innovative pricing and access strategies
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • 14+ Years with BS/BA
    OR
  • 12+ Years with MS/MA or MBA

Preferred Qualifications:

We’re seeking a strategic, influential leader with the following:

  • Relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in market access-related activities
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in life sciences, health policy or medical degree
  • Experience in global or regional (above-country) market access, launch planning and execution is required – US managed care/market access experience is an advantage
  • HIV disease area experience and market knowledge is preferred but not essential
  • Strong understanding of payer environment, including HTA, pricing and reimbursement, contracting and negotiation, and policy development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across functions and levels in a matrix environment: skilled facilitator, communicator and strategic thinker
  • Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders to achieve the objective
  • Strong communicator; Curious with learning agility; Operationally excellent

The salary range for this position is: $261,375.00 - $338,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
