Senior Director, CRC Promotions

SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Executive Director, Zanzalintinib (Zanza) Marketing, the Senior Director, CRC Promotions is responsible for developing and leading the Zanza metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) promotions team and will oversee all key promotional initiatives to support commercialization, approval and ongoing promotional execution of Zanza in mCRC.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach and develop the Zanza mCRC promotions team

  • Define promotional priorities based on Zanza’s mCRC launch strategy

  • Oversee creation of the US marketing tactical plan for Zanza’s first approval in mCRC

  • Ensure successful execution of compelling promotional tactics for US HCPs across personal and non-personal channels

  • Align messaging platform and tactical rollout with brand objectives and strategies

  • Ensure key brand messages and materials are effectively communicated at sales meetings

  • Guide collaboration with the Patient/APP Marketing Team to develop promotional materials targeting patients, caregivers, and Advanced Practice Providers

  • Oversee the promotions budget, establish goals and metrics, and measure performance

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners including field sales, sales training, market planning, digital marketing and regulatory/compliance

  • Manage key vendor relationships, including the promotional agency of record

  • Foster trust and a strong culture across the broader marketing, sales teams and partners throughout the organization

  • Maintain ongoing collaboration and consultation with CABOMETYX promotions peers to ensure alignment to Franchise strategy and messaging

  • Partner with Medical and Legal review team to ensure all promotional materials are compliant with applicable laws, regulations and policies

  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern Exelixis conduct

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

  • Master’s degree in related discipline and 13 years of related experience; or

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline and at least 15 years of related experience; or

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Experience in HCP product marketing

  • Field sales, or market research/analysis in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries are a plus

  • Patient Marketing, digital marketing and sales experiences are a plus

  • Prior experience managing direct report(s)  

  • Oncology experience strongly preferred

  • Product launch experience strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced ability to draw insight from market research, the sales force, and other sources to optimize messaging, tactical plans and promotional activities

  • Comprehensive track record of consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals

  • Advanced ability to recruit, retain, coach and develop talented individuals

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Business travel is required up to 30% of the time

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $220,000 - $312,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
